My bad, good catch, I was thinking of KJo. The way the Texans are approaching Coates, he evidently had a Grade I concussion (also his first documented one), and return can be relatively quick.
In the case of Savage, he sustained a Grade III.........no doubt, he should have been allowed a prolonged recovery before returning. Same is the case now with KJo who on top of this latest concussion, he is only 9 months out of his last. I would be quite conservative with his return to play unless we want to possibly see a Feido repeat.
So that you and others can hang your hat on concussion grading:
Concussions are graded as mild (grade 1), moderate (grade 2), or severe (grade 3), depending on such factors as loss of consciousness, amnesia, and loss of equilibrium.
In a grade 1 concussion, symptoms last for less than 15 minutes. There is no loss of consciousness.
With a grade 2 concussion, there is no loss of consciousness but symptoms last longer than 15 minutes.
In a grade 3 concussion, the person loses consciousness, sometimes just for a few seconds.
