The Texans have been quiet this off-season and have not had any of their decision makers or coaches front and center at the collegiate pro-days. That changed this past week when defensive line coach Anthony Weaver attended Michigan’s pro-day.
With Weaver in attendance, there is a decent idea of at whom he could have been looking given the position group he coaches. Defensive linemen
Ryan Glasgow,
Matt Godin, and
Chris Wormley were the headliners from the trench group. All three defensive lineman have been seen multiple times by the Texans this off-season - Godin and Glasgow were watched by the team at the East West Shrine Game and then at the Senior Bowl, team personnel met with Wormley and Glasgow. The Texans even had an informal meeting with Wormley at the NFL Combine, so there have been plenty of eyes on the group to this point.
Those three are names to continue monitoring this off-season, especially Wormley, with whom the Texans have met numerous times.
Wormley was a three-year letterman who appeared in 50 games for the Wolverines, making 29 starts. He was Michigan’s top defensive lineman the past two seasons, receiving the Richard Katcher Award, given to the team’s top defensive lineman annually. Starting all 12 games in 2016, Wormley had 36 total tackles with 5.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss. In his career, 31.5 stops of Wormley's stops went for a loss while he totaled 119 tackles and 17.5 sacks.
