The Brandon Weeden thread

Here's Brandon Weeden with a 95-yard TD pass to Josh Gordon! Josh Gordon set NFL receiving yardage records with Weeden throwing to him. Of course, Brock Osweiler could never throw a 95-yard TD pass, as he specializes in the 4-6 yard variety.

Honest question with all due respect. How long have you been a Texan fan? Oilers?

BTW, Weeden looked really good trotting down the field after that short pass.

Back to the Dan Pastorini, Tony Fritsche days. My Austrian friend grew up with the late Fritsche.

Weeden's 7 yd pass was behind Gordon and a bit high, but he had a nick girly chest bump with 73

Now you're just being silly, 90% of that was YAC.

Oh and here is Oz throwing from the 34 and dropping it perfectly in stride on the opposing 11 for a TD (55 yds in air). You should recognize it since it was against us.

Then, IMO, you should know better than to b!tch and moan for another Ken Stabler. You owe Weeden money or are banging his sister, I don't know.

Would rather not say at this time. I take enough heat for wanting Weeden to start over Osweiler.

The issue isn't starting Weeden over Osweiler. The issue is starting Weeden over any decent QB

There's really no point in arguing over this. There is no way that BOB will not start Osweiler next season; there is too much money invested in Osweiler.

I was a sumo wrestler with honors. I'm 5'5" and 160. Oh, and Monty followed my orders on D-Day.

For the record, I'm not related to Weeden and I'm not going out with his sister. The only similarity between Weeden and I is that we are both 6'4".

Are you a big Brock fan? Who do you think should be starting?

I advocate building an offensive line for the time being. I hate that we are so lean at the QB position, but if we are to get anything done we need protection now before our defense is long gone. To answer your question I would give Os one last chance with a really short leach (sic). Savage, cool. Weeden, nowhere'svillle.

Ok. You have your opinion, I have mine. Next season should be interesting.

Actually, Weeden threw the ball about 25 yards in the year. And what a waste of talent Josh Gordon is; potential star but just can't lay off the blunts.

Key words from that video... Loss to Jacksonville

Yeah, the Browns defense sucked... and still sucks! Would love to see Weeden starting for a team with a good defense, a la the Texans.

But their OL was decent, Dallas OL was great... how do you think he'd look behind the Texans OL? And don't mention Osweiler, this isn't about him

Dang, at least I get to recall the first 2 championships, little heralded as they were

I certainly remember the "Turnaround '74" season. After all I had ever known, it was ......magical. Next year was 10-4 and only good enough for third in the AFC Central...lol.

Its not that you like weeden. It's not that you want him to get a chance.

It's because if we say he's not the answer it MUST BE because we like oz. It's because you talk like he's a saviour for the franchise and only you are smart enough to see it. It's because you didnt just say it...you continue to pound that drum again and again and again corrupting every conversation you have until it's about weeden.

If you have football opinions about anything else im sure someone would love to discuss it with you.

Browns OL great? Maybe Joe Thomas and Alex Mack, but that's it.

It's a extremely high chance he won't be a Texans next season. On the cool why would he?

I don't think Weeden will be here next season. Next season will be a repeat of this season. Training camp will be another BOBO (Brock Osweiler Benefit Outing). Osweiler will be handed the job once again without merit and for the sole reason of his contract. The team's media pundits will talk about how "improved" Osweiler looks, but that'll be nothing more than "fake news." I wish it weren't so, but that's the reality of it. Weeden, thru his agent, will probably ask for a trade.

My prediction: Osweiler will be so bad next season, fans will be clamoring for BOB's firing. Osweiler may get benched 12 games in for Savage, who will look just as bad.

You know, Weeden played in one & a half games for us before they offered him a FA contract. He helped secure a significant win, our first ever @ Lucas Oil. Then kept our playoff hopes alive.

Still they went out looking for something they did not think they have. & as far as I know no one else put out an offer... as if no one else saw the promise.

He, Weeden, was let go from two other teams. Once mid season from a team with a desperate need of a QB.

Merit

Being let go by the Browns was actually a good thing. The Browns also let go center Alex Mack to the Falcons and hard-hitting safety TJ Ward to the Broncos. The only good player that has stuck around for Cleveland has been future Hall of Fame left tackle Joe Thomas.

The 2017 season doesn't begin for another 7 months, so I will be on vacation from this forum until then. Unless, of course, something drastic happens; Osweiler gets cut, etc. In the meantime, I will enjoy quality time with my son. Auf wiedersehen!

40 yd passes are the most overrated QB aspect around. The master of 40 yard domination, aka Weeden, has 17 on 965 att and you know some of those were on YAC.

I seriously doubt the Patriots would have taken the field for the 2nd half.

Hey Dutch, where ya been.

See this is what happens when you miss a few episodes.

Are you going to do your draft evals like you used to?

Haha, yeah, I guess I missed the one where someone gets roofied and wants Brandon Weeden to be our savior.

I haven't been much of an NFL fan lately, I watched about half the Texans games this year. It's hard to get excited about a team that is constantly treading water, but refuses to change the guy making the big decisions. Plus the medical staff continues to make poor decisions as always, and there is no accountability for it. If Watt is done for his career, I hope he sues the **** out of the Texans for malpractice and lost wages. It was unethical to clear him so early.

I'm not as interested in the draft any more, it takes a lot of time and effort to scout and review players on college teams I never watch. I like following it, but trying to scout 1-200 players is tedious. I do a bit of cursory review, watch some highlights of prospects I like, but nothing too involved. I fully expect Osweiller to be the starting QB next year, and spend a 4-6 round pick on a backup QB. Kind of hard to get excited about that.
