Updated Roster (Post-Draft)

Anyone else expect to see Fido the starting TE? I expect to see much better things from the TE position this year!

I'm still confused as to how Fido made the team over Khari Lee... I just don't see it. I'd have kept four TEs and fewer WRs.... :headhurts:

wow, based on what, a guess? I like him and mocked him to Texans but has not produced much. If a play requires an extra lineman blocking yeah.

Lee came out of college as a weak blocker. He carried over this weakness. In this offense blocking prowess is not premium, it is a necessity. He was still going to be a project for the Texans. As such, they thought they could get value for him prior to putting him on waivers (and possibly losing him anyway) to getting to the PS.

And the team seems to really like Anthony Denham & Mike McFarland...both on the IR this year.

How is it that both DE spots are the same size?? No way Crick or Pagan or even Crick AND Pagan are anywhere near J.J. Watt's salary.
makes the whole thing suspect IMO.

Reed is recovering from groin surgery, so lucky we didn't depend on him. He wouldn't have been available for another 3 or 4 games.

if our Lbers Moe Simon Cushing Tuggle Thompson and Dent can cover anybody we will be in trouble all year we really need Mckenny to come off this injury and play well

Tania Ganguli ESPN Staff Writer

The Texans had four defensive tackles in for workouts today, according to ESPN's Field Yates: Josh Chapman, Lavon Hooks, Ishmaa'ily Kitchen and former Texan Jerrell Powe. Houston currently only has five defensive linemen on their roster: defensive ends JJ Watt, Jared Crick and Jeoffrey Pagan, and tackles Vince Wilfork and Christian Covington.

I see it as filling the slot that Worthy was in; since he was called up. No big secret that we need OL depth/help.

That may be true in that his skills do not seem to translate into an NFL OT.......possibly an OG with some work............looking for an X-Filo backup plan, since he was with us during the preseason and TC both?

Looks like we'll have a ST guys now:
This news hasn't created much response. If Worthy can hang onto the ball, this could really impact our punt returns. Charles James should have been kept if nothing more than for coverage teams. Rolle's length really impacted the game Sunday.:kitten:

#Texans claim former Jets OL Oday Aboushi. Texans Oline coach Mike Devlin coached him with the Jets.

Position versatility, but logged time at LG recently and was ~favorably graded by PFF.

Kind of a T body with G arm length.

Keyshawn Martin traded to NE

There goes the Pats taking our rejects again! Lol

Rick isn't good at some stuff, but he's really good at getting something for nothing!

Good luck to Keyshawn! I really wish him the best, seems like a good guy and teammate.

Very high on him. Watched him play last season, he's got Pro Bowl potential. He's a natural Guard who can kick outside and play RT in a pinch. Very athletic, great hand placement, really good in pass protection and run blocking in the second level. Psyched about this. Might as well even start him at LG this week.

Waived after coming off of suspension for Marijuana possession. This ought to make the ANTI CHOIR BOY CROWD happy.

Aboushi is an interesting prospect. Played OG and RT as an underclassmen at Virginia but was their starting LT his final few years. Was drafted in the 5th round by the Jets and has played primarily OG. Has graded out around average but was cleanly beaten out by Willie Colon for the Jets starting RG job this offseason. Was suspended Week 1 for violating substance abuse policy but has since been cleared to play. Still has 2 years left on his rookie contract.

Can't be worse than Adams once he gets up to speed, right?

They tried to make a point and set an example by moving on from him. If you ask some Jets fans they'll tell you he was their best guard last season, all that while being thrown in the fire in the middle of the season when the other guard got hurt, who looked like complete crap. Aboushi took over and he played really well. Then this incident happens, they see his suspension coming so they remove him from the starting lineup and don't even let him compete for that job. They handed it to Colon instead who was terrible last year. Either way, I feel great about picking him up. I don't think he's a headcase or anything. People make mistakes, he's not a bad kid, just has to make smarter decisions.
