Fiedo! 3 Amigos have mocked him for two years. Believe or not I wanted to predict him few minutes ago but when I mentioned the corners and Ealy then they were selected, I decided to not say anything. Not superstitious but Fiedo now a Texans. They are really protecting the QBsFiedo! Hell yes, I have been on his bandwagon for years!

Hmmmm.... I knew we needed a TE at some point, but it's a bit of a surprise.
Nix must have really bad knees. And, they must not care about the QBs that are left (I think they might have taken Garoppolo).
Yeah you missed watching him play. He has soft hands and athletic huge guy that can play as an OT is super package. He is not just a blocking TE and will get lots of time on field especially in Red Zone. This is a very solidHave I missed something?
What the hell was that pick. Blocking TE are a dime a dozen
Ryan Griffin was pretty horrible at blocking.
No maybe about it. This is really going to help the Texans run game. And an ILB. And maybe a blocking TE. But that's it!

Edit: 01/20/2014 - 2014 SENIOR BOWL, TIGHT END/FULLBACK: Top player: C.J. Fiedorowicz, Iowa...A well-built target, Fiedorowicz headlines an underwhelming group of senior tight ends. His production at Iowa is average at-best, but he was underutilized in the Hawkeyes offense. Fiedorowicz has the size and skill-set to start at the next level and be successful blocking and receiving. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
Did you mock him to us? Someone did & I had to look him up.
Can't complain, I like his size, I like his hands, & I like that we finally get a tight end who can block.
For all of you who are thinking Mallett could be the guy, dont count on it. I've seen him play in the preseason here in Boston. He sucks. Seriously. Maybe he's one of those guys who can turn it on when the regular season comes around, but if his preseason play is any indication, I wouldn't sign him as an UDFA. Honestly
Going to have to take your word on it buddy.
.ore chance of seeing unicorns than collage games over here in uk.
All I can do is read up on players.
If the Patriots are looking for Rob Gronkowski insurance, or better yet, a durable version of Gronk, there’s one lurking in the draft.
Iowa’s C.J. Fiedorowicz just might be the closest to a Gronk clone in terms of being a dual-threat tight end.
First, he’s arguably the best blocking tight end in the draft. He also has great hands and can catch the football.
The fact he fits in the Gronk mold should come as no surprise. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Fiedorowicz modeled his game after the Patriots tight end.
“A lot of tight ends in the NFL are either blocking tight ends or receiving tight ends. I like watching Rob Gronkowski, someone I look up to,” Fiedorowicz said during the scouting combine. “He can dominate both the line of scrimmage and down the field. That’s who I kind of want to be like.”
I hope he works out for us, but that just isn't what I wanted with that pick.
hope so!
So the Pats are pretty much trying to force us to trade for Mallett
I don't scout players that closely, but I'm surprised that Tre Mason, RB from Auburn is still available, given that several other RBs have gone. He was really good in college - anyone know if there's something wrong with him that I'm just missing?
With RBs dropping as a group, that dropped him further down.

Mort just said rumors had BoB taking Jimmy G at 3-1. Rolled the dice and came up empty.
"Rolled the dice" is the opposite term I'd use.
At this point, go get Mettenberger. Worth the risk this late.

Did not see your location nor was I attacking but he is really good. Seems like Texans are trying to protect QBs and move ball even if slowly to eat up clock. That + a better defense could mean more Ws.Going to have to take your word on it buddy.

Mettenberger looks like he sucks to me. I don't know all that much about him, but his stats are mediocre at best. I'm done with QBs this draft -- trash left now. Jimmy G was the last of the top 5 (Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles, Carr, Garrapolo) that I would have taken with a good chance of developing a starter.
If we go QB now it will be a multi-year project guy.
We are going into the season with Fitzpatrick as our starting QB and likely ending with him at the helm. Maybe we can find a QB in 2015 because there's no chance we're going all the way this season
I'm actually with you on Mett, not a fan.
Murray is my guy though right now. I would love to see us take him at some point.
I'm actually on the Murray bandwagon at this point, too.

I have no idea what they're doing. They put a higher value on a TE than they do on the QB or RB positions that we need to fill. I mean why take the TE before picking up a QB or RB???
