o kick things off, the Seahawks will host Green Bay on Thursday, Sept. 4. However, it's the only time this year the defending Super Bowl champions will be at home for a nationally televised prime-time game. The Seahawks have four prime-time games on their schedule this season. But after the season opener against the Packers, Seattle has to play on the road for their remaining three nationally televised games. ... According to a league source, the NFL was wary of putting Seahawks home games on in prime-time due to their track record of blowouts in nationally televised games played in Seattle the last several seasons. The last three times Seattle has hosted a prime-time match-up, the games have been extremely uncompetitive.

That's pretty ridiculous if true. I'd be pretty pissed if I'm affiliated with the Seahawks and that's the explanation you get from the league.

I'm willing to be the Broncos and Pats don't have to deal with this issue.

Although the link is to SI, this fable was posted on ProFootballTalk's click-seeking website and the origin is "according to a league source" -- wouldn't be the last time Florio & company made something up out of thin air. If the SB champs requested a home nationally televised game, I imagine they'd get one.

Obviously they have now reached the high level of regard the Texans have been at for a couple of years. 2012 - 5 prime time games (yes Thanksgiving counts) only one at home, 4 on the road. 2013 - 4 prime time games only one at home, 3 on the road.

Dominant-er...

The #Seahawks have locked up star safety Earl Thomas to a blockbuster long-term extension, source says. Easily the highest-paid safety.

Dominant-er...

must be nice to have the top 2 safeties locked up. thomas is the best centerfielder right now, and i doubt kam will ever get the recognition he deserves. dude is perfect. big as a linebacker, covers like a corner, and is a thing of beauty in underneath zones ... well, beauty may not be the right word as he turns crossing routes into roadkill.

Thank goodness. I'm sick and ****ing tired about hearing about their crowd gimmick every time I watch one of their home games.
