i think i figured it out. Gary banged Colinsworth wife during their playing careers. He hates the Texans on the broadcast and on Inside the NFL. I think that's it.
 
Need to use this now, eat clock and score a TD, but even if we have to settle for a FG, it gives us a 7 point lead.

TD would put this game out of reach. Heck, I'd take a FG thouh to make it a 7 point game though. I trust our D to hold them.

To be serious, I think it could be lingering thoughts of the Oilers dating back to his career days. Stupid logic, I know, especially since the Texans weren't a part of it, but why else is he acting like Dan Fouts?

I was wondering about the "why" too and I think it's probably more recent than that. Years of only working NFC game coverage with FOX, followed by a move to NBC that ignored Houston literally for years, has left him without any clue of who or what the Texans are.
