[Sources] Schuab will not need surgery, will be back before the playoffs

Just like Andre was going to return in 2/3 weeks...

I'll go with CND's diagnosis as he's been spot on every time.

Season over.

Dont trust a source that created an account just today to login and tell everyone they have ties to scouting and all will be ok in terms of Schaub making the playoffs?

MEH

Could be worse, you know. The dude could have fewer posts... like two, or god forbid, only one!

:kitten:

I used to be a regular on a weight training MB. And the thing was, everyone and there brother could squat 800# and bench 600# until it came time to meet up with someone and prove it. That MB had more interaction between the posters with people going to PL, BB, or OL competitions and meeting up and competing to prove they were who they said they were and they could do what they said they could do. (That's where I picked up the Pencil Neck moniker.)

So... am I going to believe someone who I don't know and who's not a regular on this MB when it comes to Schaub's health? No. I'm not going to discount it, either. (Some of those guys really could squat 800# and bench 600#.)

This goes into the "Until further review..." pile for me.

Well, there's one thing Schaub and I have in common.

We both have suffered LisFranc injuries. His is not as bad as mine was, if the reports are true that his 2nd metatarsal is just dislocated. Mine blew up like a hand grenade. Took a whole month for the swelling to go down before they could operate on it. Took two plates and 13 screws to put it back together.

And it's a lucky thing I posted about it way back when it happened. Wolf saw it and alerted CnD. Long story short, it was CnD who steered me to the right doc. Even so, it took over a year and half before I could walk without a limp.

It was quite the deal.

I have no problem spelling his last name. I just use HTM (hot tub Matt) when talking about him :cow::kitten::boogie:

While I agree with the sentiment about people being nasty, it would be nearly impossible and Schaub would be considered a medical marvel, if he were able to return this season.

A linsfranc injury requires that you don't or can't bear any weight for 6 to 12 weeks. Thenm you can't just remove the screws and say hit the field Matty. It will take several weeks of rehab above and beyond the 6-12 weeks.

If he had to have surgery for Lisfranc, he would not even have those screws removed before 3 to 6 MONTHS. As you implied, athletes would not be football ready at that time. In fact they are not allowed to train full blast while the hardware is in place for good reason.........because of fear of stressing and breaking the hardware and leading to additional bone and/or ligament damage.

SOURCES: this poster is correct! I just spoke with this scout's cable provider, who confirmed the news was broke on The Longhorn Network... There is a Baby Jesus!

Well, I just listened to him on 610 and he didn't say anything about surgery YET! Said himself there was a possibility he would be back before the season is over. A lot of crap rumors floating around out there and NOONE knows for sure. We go through this crap everytime one of our players gets hurt. I guess they all need to go straight to ICU for about a month, even with a hangnail!!

Truthfully, I doubt he'll be back. BUT, as long as he is thinking positive so will I.

(hug) we are all on edge and this thread was an outlet valve for most. Actually some pretty funny stuff in here. I was sad to see someone neg repped him and made him red, just in case he was legit.

Negative repping someone because you disagree or doubt their sources and being ugly about it is pretty lame. I was willing to give the OP the benefit of the doubt on his "source", but scouts are scouts and not MD's. I also knew that there was no way Schaub would be back this season with a Linsfranc fracture (see Doc Jean's post above).

I think it's part of the initiation for all newbies.
I was declared a troll (by the wonger need food) when I first joined in 2007 {edit: it was a different subject}
Seriously

I mean, what could a newbie like me possibly have to say that would be credible.
:D

Then maybe I should get my newbie post out of the way. Has it been confirmed as broke? Is he going to have surgery?

I honestly don't know. I did hear Schaub say it was swollen up "to the size of a cinder block" on the radio yesterday. Our resident doc (CnnnD) says if there was damage to blood vessels, extensive swelling should be expected. Not sure that equates to broken/fractured bones though.

I don't trust the "take-half-a-story-and-run-with-it" media right now. I'm gonna wait until Schaub's world tour to various specialists has been completed. Then he, the team, and (hopefully) us fans will finally know exactly what we're looking at.
