We should have a mini cookoff somewhere. Burn some wood, smell some smoke, have some fun.

One day...beans, open, ribs, chicken? Skip the brisket to keep it simple.

Its that time of year. Just got me a box of cherry wood sent from Va. Ready to put it to use.
 
I'm in if logistics/timing works out. I'd like the burning wood/meat approach personally. Take the bull by the horns JB. You can getter done. You da man!
 
I haven't been able to make it before, but I'd love to try to this time. Be nice to put a face to some of the names around here.

I really like this idea. Is there a central park that doesn't get too crowded where we could do this before it gets too hot?
 
Or a bar/ice house?

I was a judge Saturday for a small cookoff at The County Line on the Westpark Toll Road. It went well.

sure, as long as it's actually the "weekend". I'm still hoping the Texans will get their Draft Party details hashed out.
 
I'm in guy's! Hav'nt been posting as much due to work, but always lurking, and sounds like a great idea!:texflag:
 
I'm hosting a crawfish boil on draft Saturday. So I cant make it. hope everybody has a good time.
 
If I'm free on this Saturday I might show up for a few laughs. I've already met a few good folks in here like Glass, Bill, Dread, Gary and Joe Texan. When is draft day?

It really needs to be an early Sunday afternoon. the 1st would be great.

I like Roc's idea of a mini tailgate, and Katie's with the park thingy.

We could all ***** about the draft that was.

I bought a party pack for Hooters, It's basically FREE wings, fries, ranch and Soft drinks for an Hour, limit of 25 people. You have to book it in advanced and I think it has to be at the Hooters in Stafford across from the fountains. If you guys wanted we could use it for this or we could save it for a Texans away game.

There is a County Park on the shores of Lake Houston that has some nice outdoor facilities for stuff like this .... lots of space , byob and maybe someone could bring a pit out to smoke some brisket.

I'm in.... As long as it's not a Thursday night. It needs to be a Friday or Saturday night with a Sunday "brunch" option...
 
I am in for a park tailgate kinda like the all colors back in the days with yellow at docs office. lets do it on sunday cause I will be at the stadium draft day

I'm out of town this weekend. Sorry, no can do unless it's Sunday afternoon. I should be back in Houston sometime on Sunday. I think. Could be Monday. I've got a lot of stuff to do at my Mom's place this weekend.

We may need to do this a different weekend , give us time to put it together.


Finding an outdoor kid friendly centralized location would probably be a good idea. I just cant think of any ....

I've got no problems organizing it. I just think the wives and kids might be in for a surprise. :D
 
We should get togeather sometime. But I've been told to stay away from organizing it. LOL

And I'm taking that advice, so don't ask. :runaway:
