Official TexansTalk NFL 2010 Mock Draft

The San Diego Chargers select Cam Thomas, NT, North Carolina.

Some may say a reach, however the guy is definitely up there with the other NT prospects. To tell you the truth, I like Thomas more than Mt. Tubby. He's definitely quicker and not as much of a gamble.

He may not be a star right away, few NT/DT are, but I think with some age, maturity, and development he'll be very good. Good pick.

Thomas is a very good choice. He was impressive at the Sr. Bowl. Thomas is a late bloomer and has much room for improvement. A very good gamble. IMHO

Who's on the clock?

Awtysst and Buffalo should be on the clock now as of 11:40 am.

The 1st round results page still needs to be updated and we don't have a results page for the 2nd round yet.

Does anyone know if we can change things on closed threads or is this only up to the mods?

Next 5.

42) Tampa Bay (via/CHI) - steelbtexan

43) Miami - JB

44) New England (via/JAX) - TexansSeminole

With the 41st pick in the Texans Talk NFL Mock Draft, the Bills are stunned with the events of the draft. We were all set ready to take a particular player but noticed that a player we thought would be drafted in the first round is still available. Since he would be an instant upgrade, we have officially made a change to our plans.

So, without any further ado, the Buffalo Bills are thrilled to introduce to you our second round pick: Devin McCourty, CB Rutgers

steelbtexan is now on the clock (5:03 PM CST)

I'm kinda leery of McCourty. No one knew who he was til the Combine. I never saw his name mentioned on any of the draft sites throughout the year until he ran a blazing 40 at the Combine. Now his name has just recently shot up the draft boards. In the 2nd round he's not as much of a risk as if he had been taken in the 1st round but I'm just cautious of guys who are never heard from throughout the year and then do well just before the draft.

Tampa Bay and Steelbtexan are on the clock as of 5:03 pm.

you have McCourty graded out in 1st rd.?

With the 42nd pick in the NFL draft the Tampa Bay Bucs select Arrelious Benn WR Illinois.

Benn gives Freeman a young weapon to work with. Benn is underrated, nobody would look good at the WR position with Juice Williams throwing them the ball. Freeman throwing the ball to Winslow and Benn will make for a major upgrade in the Tampa Bay passing game.

The Bucs have had a great draft so far Rd1 Berry Rd2 Dunlop Rd2 Benn

Let the critiques begin.

Damn Aggies

You and me both

Well, I was hoping that Benn would be there, but since he is gone the Phins select Nate Allen FS South Florida.

Love Allen, I've got S ranked like this 1.Berry 2.Mays,3.Burnett 4.Allen 5.C.Jones

A secondary secondary of Allen, Bell,V.Davis and S.Smith is one of the best in the NFL.

Thanks Super Mario! I am starting school soon so I may be a little late in PM-ing people when there picks are up so plz just give me a little time and I will try to make sure the mock runs smoothly.

Thanks for your support and participation everyone!

I consider Thomas to be a CB/S.

His versatility is the reason he's the 2nd ranked DB on my board.

Thomas wont be there at 20 unfortunately.

With the 44th pick in the draft the New England Patriots select...

Aaron Hernandez, TE Florida

hernandez_aaron_2.jpg

With Watson moving on to the Browns, the Patriots are in much need of a TE that can stretch the field. Hernandez can be another passing receiving threat in an already dangerous passing game.

With OLB Brandon Graham and TE Aaron Hernandez, the Patriots have filled two positions in which their talent was severely lacking.

The Denver Broncos select Brandon LaFell, WR, LSU

I couldnt wait any longer to get Brandon Marshalls eventual replacement. LaFell is a large body WR at 6'3" 211 pounds. He can block, break tackles, will work the middle of the field and is a big play waiting to happen. A Dwayne Bowe clone.

46) New York Giants - Wolf6151 - On the Clock 8am Monday.

47) New England (via/TEN) - TexansSeminole

48) Carolina - djohn2oo8

49) San Francisco - Kaiser Toro

50) Kansas City (via/ATL) - jgl35

In the 2010 NFL Draft 2nd round the N.Y. Giants select Brandon Spikes-MLB from Florida.

I had to settle for my 3rd choice player in the 1st round, I wanted Rolando McClain or Dan Williams but they were both gone so I settled for Brian Price, filling the Giants biggest need. Now I get to fill their other biggest need at MLB with my first choice in the 2nd round. The Giants would be happy.

Brian Price-DT
Brandon Spikes-MLB

TexansSeminole and the New England Patriots are on the clock as of 10:40 am.

With the 47th overall pick, the New England Patriots select...

Perrish Cox, CB Oklahoma State

coxvsam-261x300.jpg

Playmaking cornerback who can also be a return specialist. He leads all active FBS players and holds the Big 12 and Cowboy record with four career kickoff returns for touchdowns. Had 90+ yard punt returns in 06, 07, and 08. Cox had 4 INTs and 15 knockdows last year starting for the Cowboys.

Very good pick for the Patriots, he's gonna be a good NFL player if he can stay out of trouble. I think the Patriots are one of the few teams with strong enough leadership to keep players with troubled pasts out of future trouble.

Lets keep this wagon rollin.

48) Carolina - Shaft75

49) San Francisco - Kaiser Toro

50) Kansas City (via/ATL) - jgl35

51) Houston - HOU-TEX

52) Pittsburgh - Super Mario

I love the Allen pick. I have been pushing him on badboy and beerlover for some time on our latest mock. He is legit, I actually toyed with ranking him over Mays.

I'd love to have Allen as well but he's just not going to work out for us this year, he'll be gone by the time we pick in the 2nd round. As far as a coverage FS I'd rank him ahead of Mays as well.

With the 48th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, The Carolina Panthers select:

TonyPike_001.jpg

Matt Moore is the starting QB, so this is clearly a rebuilding period. A QB is definitely a top need in the draft, so Tony Pike is the choice

Early for Tony Pike IMO but if he can bulk up and get stronger and sit on the bench for a few years he may turnout to be a solid football player.

Agreed. If the guy can sit and learn for a couple years he's got potential to be a good QB but I'm thinking this is a little early and it's a poor year for QB's.

I agree. I think djohn could have waited a couple of rounds and still gotten this guy if he really wanted him.
