Draft Party Roll Call

This might have been covered another thread, but I haven't found one.
Who is going to the draft party at Reliant, and among those, who will be tailgating?

I'll be there with several friends when the gates open @ 10:00 to knock some of the rust of our tailgating skills.
 
I plan on going, but have to be at Minute Maid to pass out promotion items at 3:00. Which just sucks that I have to leave early. Hopefully our pick will be made by then.
 
I'm planning on it, but, I haven't heard from any of the Blue Crew yet. Best thing about the draft party is seeing old friends!!
 
I am driving down on Friday for the draft party. I am sooo excited about seeing everyone again. I also have to leave early for a wedding...

Is the Blue Crew planning to do a mini-tailgate?
 
You guys and gals have fun, I was going to go to my first one this year but my brother is getting married on Saturday so no fun for me.
 
I'm gonna have to miss it this year. I've had a good time the past couple of years, but it sucks that they don't do a tour of the locker / lounge / weight rooms anymore.

I thought the draft use to start at noon central time. I remember they cut the time from 15 minutes to 10 minutes so it wouldn't finish soooo late. I guess that wiped out that therory.
 
I'm going to be there w/ my cuz sporting my Battle Red AJ jersey! What kind of giveaways do they do every year before the draft starts?

They still do it. It's called "All Access" and it's invitation only for season ticket holders. They might be scaling it back, though, because last year it was on a Thursday night.

I got sucked into buuco, bunko, bakko...whatever game its called. I held my ground til they promised me I could at least watch ESPN.
 
I'll be with friends on a laptop somewhere putting people in the naughty corner left and right (almost all of them will be from the official site) hoping none of the servers crash. There will be some who just fling themselves off the cliff...it's pretty predictable.

Lol, I bet you will. You should come and do it from Reliant. We would have a great time giving you advice on how to handle the offenders.

You should open two threads, one for the complainers and one for the optimists. Close everything else down, allow no more threads to be created that day.

- NEW!!!! Kids football clinic~we will be having a kids football clinic here at Reliant Stadium for our youngest fans to learn football techniques and drills from our Houston Texans Ambassadors.

I'll definitely be there and want to see all my old PALS, just don't know where everyone intends to meet. Blue Crew or not, TexanTalk posters should get together someplace and rep this board real well. After all, we don't want Vinny throwing us off the cliff!:D:fans:

Maybe not exactly, but there is always potential when your team's draft board isn't like Mel Kiper Hair's draft board. For character reasons or whatever.

And, we had a crisis nearly averted during the Amobi draft. Peterson was taken with the 7th pick. If he had been taken with the 8th pick, the one that the Texans switched with ATL to get Schaub, the Texans would have been crushed.

/Amobi over Willis isn't something that lights up talk radio like AD would have.
 
Hmmmmm can I make it from NIOSA...to sons tball game and then to reliant......dang....where is that bullett train to houston that we voted on.

Thanks again for registering for the Houston Texans Draft Party presented by Miller Lite! We are very excited about this year's NFL Draft and look forward to an exciting 2009 season!

We just wanted to send a few reminders out to everyone regarding the Houston Texans Draft Party presented by Miller Lite.

- Free Parking is available in the Teal Lot which opens at 10:00 AM

- There are NO open flames allowed on site. Fans may bring cold items such as sandwiches, cold beverages, chips and dips, etc, but cooking on a pit will NOT be allowed on the premises.

- Everyone should have received a ticket (Draft Day Party Tickets.pdf) in their Registration Confirmation email that was sent to the email address you entered when you registered online

- If you did NOT receive a confirmation email and/or the Draft Party Tickets, please contact Allie Davis at 832-667-2016 or email her at adavis@houstontexans.com so we can take care of your tickets

- The doors to the Verizon Wireless West Club will open at 1:30 PM

- We will host three Kid's Football Clinics (2:30 PM, 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM) that will be open to the first 50 kids per session that sign up in the TORO's Kid's Club Kids Zone located on the South Mezzanine

- Fans will have the opportunity to submit their vote and help form the 2009 Houston Texans Cheerleading Squad as all 42 finalists will be on hand signing autographs along with performing a special dance for the fans. Ballots will be handed out upon entry to the Verizon Wireless West Club and fans can turn their ballots in at various locations throughout the event

I just got back from the store, we are going to honor the open flame rule and are bringing some rotisserie chicken (I figure it will be ok cold) and potato salad. I am making Amy's recipe that won 2nd place at the Gary Lynn Foundation Cookofff, for anyone who wants to sample it.

That's what I was thinking...

I've never been to a draft party at reliant so I dunno how it works, but I would think that it'd be better if they opened the gates maybe an hour and a half before the draft started and then extended the event cuz it seems like there will be a lot of picks to be made when it's over...
 
I feel left out. Is everyone one just showing up and parking in Teal? Are there plans to meet as a group? Is everyone doing some mini tailgating or just doing their own thing? Damn it, I hate it when my old mind wants to organize things! lol
