The intent here is not to be tongue in cheek, but to actually share your favorite play, sequence, quote, etc. about the first draft pick in our franchise history.

Mine was this year. It was a play that showed that Kubiak's luster rubbing off on Carr, executed to perfection with confidence and it was extremely timely as it put us in the lead. It was a play that gave me hope for the future.

    Carr's bootleg against the Dolphins
    3-1-MIA1 (15:00) D.Carr left end for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN.
    K.Brown extra point is GOOD, Center-B.Pittman, Holder-C.Stanley.

The guy is in a tough place, like many of us have been in our professions, and he is one of our guys. Lets get some good karma going. :texflag:

    My favorite:

David's pass to Derek Armstrong against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004 that got us into field position for Kris Brown's 49 yard game winning field goal:

    2-15-HOU35 (1:04) D.Carr pass to D.Armstrong to KC 30 for 35 yards (G.Wesley).

When he beat the Jaguars with the goal line sneak at the end of the game a few years back.

How about when he rushed for the only touchdown againt the Bills in the home opener. We had no offense, but he wasn't going to be denied.

Or how about the game comeback against the Vikings. Those passes up to AJ were great

    His first TD pass.

I have been to a lot football games, including both UT Rose Bowl vicotries, and I rank that game as absolutely amazing. The feeling at Reliant was really cool.

I never thought he would throw a TD so quickly in career.

    That was a great game.

    I'm torn between:

Goal line dive over Stroud and Henderson when we could have kicked a field goal for OT

    or

The sunday night Packers game where AJ just missed getting a TD and ran up to Carr saying he got in. Carr responded "Don't worry about it, we'll score right here"(or similar) and then throws a TD pass on the next play.

I just wish he were that confident all the time.

I have a hard time picking a fave.

My fave from this year is this play. It demonstrates his athleticism, and what can happen when the other team has to start respecting your running game. When the Texans can run, you can do more of the play action.

In most of the JAX game, they couldn't do the play action stuff because we weren't running well. In the 4th quarter it became the Lundy show and then you can run the Denver stuff that makes their offense work.

Carr to Daniels, 4th quarter Texans-JAX. Daniels was so freaking wide open because JAX had to respect both the run and AJ:

    Houston Texans at 11:19
    1-10-JAC26 (11:19) D.Carr pass short left to A.Johnson to JAX 22 for 4 yards (G.Sensabaugh).
    2-6-JAC22 (10:54) W.Lundy up the middle to JAX 14 for 8 yards (T.McDaniel).
    1-10-JAC14 (10:02) D.Carr pass short left to O.Daniels for 14 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
    K.Brown extra point is GOOD, Center-B.Pittman, Holder-C.Stanley.
    JAC 7 HOU 24, Plays: 3 Yards: 26 Possession: 1:22.

That was not an easy throw--rollout to the left, defenders coming right atcha.

I liked it so much, I made Daniel's celebration picture a big one on the FanHouse blog.

I also was sitting behind the Texans bench for that half, and I was happier seeing the players happy than I was for myself.

The 4th quarter of that game shows what is possible for the Texans as far as what can happen when you run the ball, play actioning, playing dominating D from a position of being ahead. I really see that quarter being the future of the team once we get a few more pieces and parts in place.

I also believe that it is plays like that one that show what Kubiak sees in Carr.

you guys amaze me, its unbelievable on how big of a man crush some people have for DC(not pointing fingers). days after the great DC loses a game for us becuase he throws and interception into quadruple coverage, and loses two fumbles this board can't help but think about their favorite david carr play. i remember seeing post and threads on people bashing others for the man crushes on VY and RB, but those are not nearly as bad for say the 50% of the board that has a man crush on carr. i am so tired of the excuses every week on how everything carr does wrong is not his fault, rather its the fault of his oline or recievers etc. now i will recognize the fact that the o line is hit or miss on most plays and salaam, weigert, and mckinney should be release now, but explain to me why sage was not sacked once. Finally we have a coach that is holding him accoutable. i will give credit where credit is due, DC has had some bright spots this year, but he is hit or miss. through his career he has fumbled the ball a whopping 60 times and fumbled for loss 19. this is unexceptable, and i have come to the conclusion that DC will never be more than an avg. to medicore qb, but i am hoping i am wrong. before you call me a fair weather fan and all that stuff.. i want to you know i watch everygame every week and it absolutly ruins my day when we have games like we did last sunday. i can't tell you how many times i wanted to punch a hole in the wall last sunday. sorry to ruin this thread

Favorite Carr moment was when we played the Falcons and he came in with a WOUNDED arm, could not throw the ball 5 yards. Vick also was injured and came in but got stuffed by Sharper giving the texans a chance to win the game.

Carr came in, and looked like VICK and ran the ball about 20 yards and took a SHOT and he almost went out. He showed LEADERSHIP and HEART running that ball and setting up the winning Field Goal.

2002 - DC's pass to Billy Miller to score vs. the Cowboys. also his laser pass to Jermain Lewis down the middle of the field that was dropped. Those two passes showed me he had what it took to be the QB of our team. Arm strength, accuracy, and willingness to go for the big play.

2003 - DC came into the game vs. the Falcons with a bad wing and scrambled for a first down and willed our team to victory. Toughness and leadership.

2004 - the game vs. the Vikings; he kept slinging it, refusing to let the team die. Unfortunately, the defense didn't hold. Never giving up.

2004 - going on the road vs. Chicago, he played a heck of a game in single-digit temps. The ability to go on the road and play in a hostile environment and pull out a win.

2005 - the game vs. the Cardinals (or was it the Rams, or both?) where he called his own plays for a half and the team responded well, scored points, and then the OC screwed up and took control back. The ability to command a huddle and the smarts to call his own plays in the NFL.

2006 - the opening drive vs. the Eagles, he led the offense in a near flawless drive, showing me he can be a good QB in this system. Also, the game vs. Jacksonville.

Also, the game vs. Jacksonville where he dived over for the winning score. Talking the coach into going for it there and delivering. never giving up and getting the job done when it counted.

These are all times that DC has shown to me he has what it takes to be a very good QB in this league. Unfortunately, most of these traits I've highlighted have not shown up with regularity. When he was a young QB, he seemed like he could take the mantle. I really think the sacks have beaten that out of him. I am hopeful that Kubiak can bring back the good parts of Carr that we have seen sporadically over his career, before it's too late.

carr's pass to aj in the tenn. game, 2002 or 2003. it was the game we lost in the last seconds. it was with about 2 min left carr was under pressure and completed a pass to aj that aj made into a huge gain. dd scored on the next play and we took the lead with a little over a min left. carr said after the game he was under so much pressure he didnt even see johnson he just threw to a spot.

that game also had my favorite texan play in it. the play were marlon mcree intercepted a pass from mcnair and ran it back 90 yards for a td. i was at the game with my friend and he ran right past us for the score. to bad mcree wasnt good enough for us to try and keep.

    by the way. nice thread.

Sunday...November 5, 2006. I believe he lights up the Giants in a comeback that'll set the stage for the second half of the season.

    Onward and upward!!!

Uh KT, is the last person to be accused of a mancrush. What is wrong with trying to karmically get the ball rolling with what Kubiak is trying to do?

Look at this list. Check out the number of attempts and the rating. Look at all the names on the list and who is high and low. Yeah, Carr has a hard time holding onto the ball, but imagine what could happen if Kubiak could coach that fumblitis out of him. I don't know how likely that is, but he's coached more QBs than me. If you want to accuse me of having a Carr crushage, uh, this is what I wrote about the benching.

Anyway, there are plenty of other threads to express your unhappiness with the QB situation. Is it so bad to have just one thread on the entirety of the MB to celebrate the good stuff?

my favorite play wasn't even one that counted for anything...because it was a missed catch. coming up on the end of the first half, carr's first professional start against the cowboys...texans were on the 50, carr drops back, and throws one of the prettiest balls i've ever seen. it was sailing towards jermaine lewis, and went right between his hands...i just thought that it went right between his arms was awesome. no one was even near him. he had a step on everyone. struck me as wow.

So I take it you don't have a favorite David Carr play?

I always find it unbelievable how posters are at times incapable of staying on topic but that's just me.
