Pick a position that you would play if you could. Money should not be the reason. Anything else goes. Explain why. The rest of the team remains the same.

Left cornerback for me. I prefer defense and would thrill at running with the WR and tipping the ball out of his reach. I am 5'10" and 167lbs but could bulk up to 180. I was pretty quick in younger days for short spurts. I know there is more to the position than that but would be my dream.

Punter. I'm easily five times as athletic as Turk(which isn't saying much) and I play soccer. Though I do have the footwork for lineman.

Punter for sure. Heck, if Turk and Janikowski (K) can play with beer bellies, I sure as hell can play too.

MLB... Sorry Meco, move over.

Realistically, punter or place kicker. For essentially the reason Dante mentioned. Beer belly---------> Tony Frisch

I wonder if the Texans could use an old single wing wingback, deep safety, KR (we still played both ways back then) -- Har De Har Har!!!

In High School I was a WR, CB and the kicker..barefoot..hit from 50 before.

I loved playing WR. That would be my choice. Not top speed at all but at 6'1 3/4-6'2 and 195 I can catch anything thrown my way. A good underneath guy.

CB was a blast and I could tackle but hitting some larger backs wasn't a favorite thing of mine.

I would like to be the place holder. That position is very important and I would make sure the ball is turned laces out.

Ok, if not waterboy then Fullback, would love to plow the way and open up holes. Team position if there ever was one :)

In HS I played slot and gunner, until I went to baseball.

So going along the lines of Gunner .......... SS, The next Chuck Cecil, Hit 'em and Hit 'em hard.

Considering I played DE throughout Jr. High, High School and into college. I reckon I'd play on the weakside.

But, to be serious, if I could play any position it would be on the defensive line. I love watching good defensive lines do their thing and shutting down the offense.

Of course at my age I'd be a pile of wrinkled bones after the first play. LOL

I would say CB, number 34. (really I was 82 when I played but I played WR as well).

I could lay the wood and had tremendous ball skills dispite my small size.

Ended the season with 3 FF, 1 fumble recovery, 3 picks, and like about 15 tackles dispite playing cb for only half the season after injuries forced me to move from FS. I don't remember the 3 of passes defensed, though.

Tall and fluid, and finally solidifying a position of need, I am the new FS.

I am the same way. I have always preferred the secondary, and at 6'2" 220lbs, I think I would be perfect at that position especially with a tae kwon do and soccer background. All about fluidity, flexibility, and great footwork. Rewind a 6 years and I was at 175 lbs and maybe at that weight wouldve been better suited for CB.

But i do agree with the others... most realistic position for me is place kicker/punter.

... maybe that's why we're both FS for the Houston Toro's

Kicker! I can kick a field goal 35 yards!

2nd option would be 3rd down running back. I'm only 5'6 but I'm quick and fast and could take it all the way!

Lets see., I am 5'9 170 lbs, with a max bench of 230 or so. I play hockey and love to hit, although I am not a very fast funner. Fullback, maybe a slower linebacker. I think fullback would be the best bet, because I do have solid hands.

Offense: I'd be tailback. And I'd be the kind of tailback Kubiak hates, dancing in the backfield and creating my own route on the fly.

Defense: Weakside DE. Blowing off the line at the snap and blindsiding the QB.

Bye bye Petey Faggins, Hello #42 for your Houston Texans, Kiwitexansfan.

6'0" 185lbs, lightning quick over 40 yards, nasty demeanour and acute awareness, not afraid to stick my nose into trouble.

I honestly think that Bennett, Molden, Robinson and Reeves are a great foursome of corners, so I can be the 5th guy to cover in spots, play some passionate special teams, blow up some returners, maybe even offer some kick return skills....

Corner, I'm not fast, strong, or remotely good at anything football but i would love to jam a WR like TO or Ocho Cinco or some cocky bastard like that who are trying to give the NFL a bad name. In all reality, the guy who sells players real maple syrup but...

Good thread. I'm 6'2" 300 lbs. played every positon on my high school squad o-line, but my starting position was DT, move over TJ, loved to get after the QB best game of my life had 3 sacks, 2 FF, 1 Batted down pass, and 6 solo tackles. Six months latter football was over for me Broke my neck during spring pratice. For years still had the desire to try and put the pads back on but common sense prevalied.

I actually played QB in 8th grade and parts of 9th grade. That said, I doubt I have the wits or drive to be an NFL QB. So, for that reason, kick off Quinn Gray and sit my ass on the bench for a very fun and safe 15 year career as Houston's third string QB.

Sorry Duane. I know you are new here, but you're gonna have to sit. I'm 6'4" 250 right now. If I can add about 50 pounds of muscle (anyone have Clemens' #) I could watch Schaub's blindside and play LT. I have decent enough footwork from playing basketball and football in the old days.

Ok, if not waterboy then Fullback, would love to plow the way and open up holes. Team position if there ever was one :)

Now that is interesting. It takes a special type to give up the glory as a back and be the full back. Most knowledgable folks understand the importance of this position but maybe not as many casual fans. I am impressed. Steve

Practice Squad Kicker! I have some experience playing soccer yet would need to learn and practice at the position for awhile

im 5'6", 145... and since i'm a big texans fan, i wanna see them win... so forget it, i'm fine watching.

I think you could maybe walk on at the University of Houston. That team recently lost an RB not much bigger than you. Who knows? If you make it big, please remember who gave you the idea.

Either DeMeco or Mario coming off the edge. Im at 6'2 235 so an LB is prolly better suited. i LOVE coming off the edge though

WR, Deep Threat specialist. Simply b/c i've got great hands & my game was similar to Randy Moss when i was in high school; just put it in the vicinity of my 6'3 220 frame & noone is out-leaping me for the ball, period.

When younger, I could be the DE opposite of Mario (6'7" and 285).

Now line me up at RT, and move Caveman to G (6'7" and 350).

I'm 6'2 1/2" 285 and very explosive(especially when I eat Mexican food). I played center in HS, and fullback in pop-warner and jr. high. I would love to mow down a linebacker or defensive back again.

Surely they have an opening for an opponent scout or statistician?

On the field? I'm a basketball/soccer player really... 6'2 190 give or take.... In h.s. I was a 4.6 or so... slot receiver? Though the only thing i've really much experience with is QB and WR... mostly pick up games.... hmm... I'll just play wherever they need me...

Mike

You would be the only Texan with your back to the defense. We could have the announcer do the "Charles Barkley" thing. "YellerLotYeller is backing it in, backing it in..."

im 6'5, 180....i used to play goalie in soccer, i have fantastic hands, and very fluid in the hips. Im the epitome of ballhawk freesafety.
