Griffin would be a definite upgrade for the defensive secondary. I like that pick, and not just because I'm a Longhorn or because I put him in my starting lineup.

When I was looking around to what is available at that pick, Griffin looked like BPA. I really want a Center, but Kalil will most likely be gone, and I'm not sure Datish is worth the reach; besides, a good center may be there in the third round.

i'd be happy with that, addressing two critical needs positions & still in line to get a decent QB prospect/MLB in the 3rd or maybe even a CB if we haven't already adressed it in FA.:ok:

On a side note, i don't understand the Minn. pick. They were among the top in Run defense why would they pick up Adams, when they need offensive & secondary help?

everyone knows i'm usually opposed to "skill position" in the first, but at 8 peterson is a tremendous value and griffin is a great second round choice. i'd like to see the rest of the draft go defense and offensive line, but these two picks definitely work for me.

This would be a strong start to the draft

Not that it matters, but on the actual site, they list Reggie Nelson as a CB not a S

I would crap my pants in glee if this were our first two rounds.

No matter who we select where, there will always be guys we pass that I'll be like 'man he would have been a good pick too' Like Landry, Nelson, Brown etc in 1st and just missing out on Kalil in the 2nd.

It'd be a hard decision whether to pick Griffin or Chris Houston. i'd probably go with griffin though.

I'd look for OL,LB, or CB in the 3rd. wow thats still a lot. lol. i'd take pba of those position if they warrant it and that would be yet another solid 1st day.

because they have spent big draft pick wise the alst few years on the D-Line and it hasnt panned out. kenechi Udeze had 0 sacks in 2006 and Erasmus James missed much of the year. their most consistent players were interior lineman like Pat Williams.

Gaines Adams is a pass rusher not a run stopper.

The current #8 player on Kiper's Big Board is Ted Ginn, Jr. I'm against it, but does anyone feel that Ginn would be a valuable pickup at #8?

Oh My God, those 1st 2 picks would be awesome! Sign Steinbeck & maybe sign Jordan Babineaux and that offseason would be a 9 in my book.

Don't be sorry. You did it right, I was just pointing out how everyone lists him and knows he plays safety, but a Draft website somehow lists him as a CB.

I dont see us leaving Merriweather on the board in round 2 unless there are some serious concers over his character. Also, Justin Blaylock is still on the board at our second round pick, but I guess this depends on what we did in FA, such as Ken Hamlin...

If Blalock is there at #40 there is no way we pass on him.

If the best OG in the draft falls that far we have to grab him.

He's one of the better OG prospects to come out in a few years. IMO, he is a certain 1st rounder.

I also think Merriweather will be the better player and a better value in that second round. I know character issues are something most posters don't want here but I think our defense could use a little attitude as long as he's not an axe murderer or anything(unless of course he has Bud Lite).:drunk:
