Say I rank the mighty Texans in the #8 at least .500 but really #7 overall if we beat the Jags and Remember the Titans twice and we must be in second place. That makes them rank #2 in the AFC South . So I would rather look more at this wild card playoff ranking.... who will be #2 in the AFC North, West, and East. According to the Yahoo ranking that makes,
    East
    Indy(4)
    Fins (8)
    Jets (14)
    Bills (15) )

    West
    Broncs(2)
    Chargers(5)
    Chiefs(9)
    Raiders(12)

    North
    Steelers(1)
    Bengals(2)
    Browns(10)
    Ravens(11)

    South
    Indy(4)
    Jags(7)
    Texans(13)
    Titans(16)
With a #8 ranking then remove the ranked Jets, Bills, Fins, Chiefs, Radiers, Browns, Ravens, Titans, and also go into second place in the South and beat the Jags twice. The Texans must be in second place for possible wild card playoff to work. That's nine teams out and 7 teams left. 4 of them will win the division title which leaves 3 left. Two will make the wild card playoffs. It's all statistical prediction anyway but that yahoo sports writer's opinion is just one of many too. I say look for a good record that appeals to the second place playoff first.
