The only guys that are safe are the following:

    Corners:
    30 Allen, Jason
    24 Joseph, Johnathan
    25 Jackson, Kareem
    26 Harris, Brandon

    Safeties:
    38 Manning, Danieal
    29 Quin, Glover
    33 Nolan, Troy
    31 Keo, Shiloh

    On the bubble:

34 Barber, Dominique - will need to prove himself on special teams to get a roster spot
36 Carmichael, Roc - hard to imagine he won't make the team, but could be bound for PS
22 McManis, Sherrick - needs to show he can play safety

I say Roc makes the squad, and McManis & Barber battle for the last spot.

Guys most likely cut will be:

    35 Teague, Jason
    39 Demps, Quintin
    42 Williams, Torri
    37 Baker, Antonio
    28 Molden, Antwaun
    21 McCain, Brice

McCain certainly better make the team. I felt that he had the most potential of any of the corners last year.

Geez, that quite a list ... can we keep all of them? :devilpig:

Actually first time I recall so many tough choices in the backfield.

I have a hard time believing McMannis gets cut. There's just no spot for him. Maybe they'll carry 6 CB, but I doubt it.

Carrying 6 CB's is not unheard of usually the 6th is deactivated game day. I'd prefer carrying 6 so you can rotate them in practice and reduce chances of injury. I fully expect them to carry 6 CB's this season especially with McMannis showing ability to play safety. With them opting to deactivate one of the safeties in favor of McMannis a few games depending on need. I also think Keo makes it over Dom Barber, if only for his PR abilities

I think whether or not they carry 6 cb's or 6 wr's or 4 rb's or 4 te's will boil down to different factors.

If slaton holds on to the third rb spot that he currently holds, expect us to carry 4 rb's.

This would be a great year to not need a ls but iiwii.

I also think that there will likely be some injuries and that will help determine roster spots. Also, just like every year we will probably stash some guys away on the IR list.

Barber stinks. He needs to go. Brice Mccain is horrible. He needs to go sell insurance. I would love to say goodbye to Kareem. I would cut him today if it was me. He stinks worse than Barber and MCain together, but I know that won't happen. I'm hearing that both Mcmannis and Allen can potentially move to safety but for now they go as CB in my book...however that might provide some flexibility.

I'm thinking it goes down like this for the keepers -

    CB:
    30 Allen, Jason DB 6'1" 200 Tennessee
24 Joseph, Johnathan DB 5'11" 190 South Carolina
26 Harris, Brandon DB 5'10" 191 Miami (Fla.)
36 Carmichael, Roc DB 5'10" 184 Virginia Tech
    25 Jackson, Kareem DB 5'10" 195 Alabama
    22 McManis, Sherrick DB 6'1" 193 Northwestern

That's if they keep 6. Last spot(s) is between Roc, McMannis and Molden with 2 of those three making it. If it's 5, it's one of those 3 making it. Right now, I have Molden as odd man out. Molden actually has great ST value. He's actually really good on ST, but he can't stay healthy and that is why he is a goner imo. I don't see McCain making it out of camp. Dude can't play worth a sheet. Same goes for Barber.

    For safeties:

38 Manning, Danieal DB 5'11" 202 Abilene Christian
29 Quin, Glover DB 6'0" 203 New Mexico
    31 Keo, Shiloh DB 5'11" 219 Idaho
33 Nolan, Troy DB 6'2" 206 Arizona State

    Cut:

35 Teague, Jason CB 6'1" 184 Texas Christian
    39 Demps, Quintin DB 5'11" 206 Texas-El Paso
    42 Williams, Torri DB 6'2" 210 Purdue
37 Baker, Antonio DB 5'11" 210 Louisiana Tech
28 Molden, Antwaun DB 6'1" 200 Eastern Kentucky
    34 Barber, Dominique DB 6'0" 213 Minnesota
    21 McCain, Brice DB 5'9" 184 Utah
    41 Rolle, Maurice DB 6'0" 189 Louisiana-Lafayette

Is there no one that has practice squad eligibility left? That's a third choice that I don't see many of you using. Am I missing something?

Jason Allen > Jonathan Joseph, or you weren't putting them in order?

The choices dont seem all that difficult to me ....

The Texans had the worst pass defense in the NFL and were on pace to be the worst statistical pass defense in history.

Several of the guy's on this list couldnt displace the starters from that disaster. If we have improved so much .... how the hell are they gonna contribute to the current roster (outside of ST). I give the edge to the rookies for stickin around based upon that alone.

I don't know what you were looking at. Everytime I saw McCain he was getting run over or beat outright.
