There are so many threads about drafties on who we should draft, but not many that stated if we were there or not (I know we won't be mentioned at everyone of them) so this is a list of sites that stated we were there.

In Georgia we were there..not sure if smokescreen or Palmer looking at WR's or both

    at auburn

    Chick Harris was there

    Here's some more.

    Great Blue North

PEARL RIVER CC, MS (March 24th) wide receiver LARRY BRACKINS ran between 4.54 and 4.56 in the 40... fastest time was 4.52... 35.5" vertical... 9'7" broad jump...
was satisfied with his shuttle times... 6043, 215 pounds... caught passes from Fred McNair, a former AFL standout, who is now coaching at Millsaps, MS college... had about a 35-45 minute positional workout, running routes and catching passes... 40-times came on grass... four teams, Houston, Minnesota, New Orleans and Philadelphia, were on hand for today's workout... already has a private visit with Tampa Bay scheduled for early April.

COLUMBIA (March 22nd) senior tight end WADE FLETCHER ran between 4.82 and 4.88 in the 40... 4.29 short shuttle... 6.94 three-cone... 31.5" vertical... 9'1.5" broad jump and also did 19 reps of 225 pounds... weighed in at 6067, 253 pounds... had
111 catches, 1,449 yards and 11 touchdowns in just two years (transferred from Northern Colorado)... also had six 100-yard plus yard games during that same period of time... catch his games versus Brown (2004) and Dartmouth (2003)... better than advertised athlete; ran track and played basketball in high school... has a number of relatives playing college sports, both his dad and uncle played major college football too... his results came as part of the Pro Day held at Hofstra, which featured scouts from Green Bay, Houston, NY Giants and NY Jets... FYI... he wore jersey #8, as a senior and jersey #84, as a junior.

ARKANSAS TECH (March 7th) senior offensive guard JONATHAN HAYES (#60) ran 4.97 and 5.04 in the 40... 4.72 short shuttle... 29" vertical... 8'5" broad jump... also did 25 reps of 225 pounds... weighed in at 6046, 297 pounds... sprained his right ankle on the three-cone drill... has done some deep snapping earlier in his career...
March 29th at Arkansas Pine-Bluff... Indianapolis and New Orleans were in attendance... Houston and Kansas City have shown interest since his Pro Day...

HAMPTON U. senior center JELANI CLEMENT has drawn interest from Arizona, Houston, Jacksonville and Miami.

TROY STATE (March 17th) senior defensive end/outside linebacker DEMARCUS WARE ran between 4.50 and 4.55 in the 40... some had him as fast as 4.49... it was more of a private workout that was attended by at least seven teams... Baltimore, Carolina, Cleveland, Dallas and Houston have shown him additional attention... will have a private visit with Atlanta on March 30th.

VANDERBILT junior defensive end JOVAN HAYE has been getting additional attention from Cincinnati, Houston and Tennessee.

both senior running backs RONNIE BROWN and CARNELL WILLIAMS did only positional drills, as they were carefully watched by Tampa Bay, Houston, Seattle, Arizona and even Minnesota

    Some more still.

    Great Blue North

SOUTH CAROLINA (March 16th) junior wide receiver TROY WILLIAMSON did not run the 40-yard dash, as he was satisfied with his results from the Combine... 41.5" vertical... 4.00 short shuttle... 11.10 60-yard shuttle... had lost a few pounds down to 198 pounds, as he was fighting flu-like symptoms the past week... Atlanta, Carolina, Chicago, Green Bay, Houston, Miami, Minnesota, San Diego and Tennessee all spent time with him... senior linebacker MARCUS LAWRENCE and senior defensive tackle DARRELL SHROPSHIRE did only positional drills, as they were satisfied with their workout results from the Combine... Baltimore, Carolina, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Green Bay, Houston, Miami seemed to be more interest in Shropshire, while most of those same teams, as well as Tampa Bay seemed to focus attention on Lawrence...

LAMBUTH, TN (March 23rd) senior offensive tackle STEFAN RODGERS (#55) will be working out for scouts that day... played basketball for two years, while also initially being a tight end before moving to left tackle... was named first-team All-MSC, as an offensive lineman, as a senior... recently had a private workout with Chicago, has another arranged with Houston (March 25th) and also has at least one private visit scheduled, as well for early April... currently, he is 6050, 308 pounds... our staff has contacted his player rep about obtaining additional game film, as we only had Bethel College, Georgetown (KY) and Virginia-Wise... senior defensive lineman JOHN THOMPSON (#94) will also be working out that day, as well.

ALBANY, NY (March 17th, 28th) senior linebacker/safety KURT CAMPBELL has already has a private workout with St. Louis scheduled, but has seen additional interest from Baltimore, Carolina, Dallas, Detroit, Green Bay, Indianapolis and Miami leading up to his Pro Day events... besides his first two dates, Campbell will also be available to workout on April 8th, please contact his player rep for additional information.... will likely have representatives from between 8-12 teams, including Buffalo, Dallas, Houston, Miami, NY Giants and St. Louis, at either one or both of their Pro Day events over the next two weeks, while Indianapolis will be in attendance on April 8th.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE (March 28th) will likely have representatives from between 15-18 teams, including Houstom, Miami, NY Jets and Philadelphia, at their Pro Day, as senior linebacker/defensive end SARTH BENOIT and senior quarterback MIKE ABATE workout that day.

STEPHEN F. AUSTIN (March 10th) senior linebacker JEREMY DAVIS ran between 4.78 and 4.85 in the 40... has previously been timed at between 4.68/4.75 in the 40 at 240 pounds... 17 reps of 225 pounds... 35" vertical... weighed in at 6005, 230 pounds... only one team (Houston) attended this workout, so the Dallas, Texas native would be eligible to workout at TCU's second Pro Day on April 1st if a few teams would call on his behalf or would be available at his own school if necessary... Chicago, Denver, Kansas City and St. Louis have also expressed in him.

WOOSTER, MA senior running back TONY SUTTON, a Division III prospect who played in this year's Hula Bowl, had received attention from Baltimore, Houston, Jacksonville, San Francisco and St. Louis.

    From NFL.com

    VANDERBILT: MARCH 18
The players ran their 40s outdoors on a track, their shuttles on FieldTurf, and then did their positional drills on grass. Twenty teams were there, including defensive line coaches from Houston, Cincinnati and Tennessee.

    Player Position Gil's comments
Justin Geisinger OT Geisinger (6-3 7/8, 320) stood on most of his numbers from the combine. He had a 27½-inch vertical and a 7-foot-11 long jump. He did 34 lifts at Indy.
Jovan Haye DL Haye stood on his numbers at the combine, so all he did was get weighed and measured. He was 284 pounds at the combine, but 287 pounds here. He did positional drills as well.
    Dominique Morris CB Morris (5-11 1/8, 197) ran his 40s in 4.56 and 4.50, had a 34-inch vertical, a 9-foot-10 long jump, a 4.11 short shuttle, a 6.78 three-cone drill, 11.83 in the short shuttle and 16 reps.

Other than DJ and Antrell Rolle what top prospects have the VISITED the Texans ? (those likely to be first round , top half of the first round)

Its interesting that the only players of significance the Texans have actually had VISIT them are two players that are likely not to be available when their pick comes around at 13 . :hmmm:

makes me think (1) we're seriously considering trading up if given the opportunity or (2) Cass thinks that the top of the draft is going to go sideways, and/or the other 12 gm's are *****s and that one of these guys are going to fall to us:

    Rolle
    Benson
    Johnson

    *two hands of prayer*

I thought that at first as well, then I realized its possible the media just didn't pick up on visits of lower-prestige players.

We have had several visits from Lower Tier guys, Boyer, and the two O-linemen from Cent. Michigan. They are both very good and would add alot of depth if we went after them in the third and fourth. Alot of people want us to get someone for the O-line, but I think getting a D-Playmaker would be a better move. Our team right now have only about 5 D-playmakers at most. Peek, D-Rob, Wong, and Glenn. U can put the other one, but these guys are the ones that make the impact plays for us and we need another especially if we plan on staying in the 3-4.
