With Schaub out, who do you think that we will bring in for back-up?

If anything, this gives us an opportunity to bring someone in who - if necessary - can replace Sage as the back-up (assuming Kubes and Co. stick with Schaub - which I suspect they will do) or who could compete for a starting spot next year.

Maybe Chris Simms? It is probably not setting fire works off with anyone on this board...especially UT fans. I think he is a guy with some talent that has experiencing starting in this league. Maybe in a new system, this can be a veteran who can flourish?

I say we add Kubiak to the roster...A career back-up backing up a career back-up....

He already knows the plays and should make smarter decisions with the ball...

Isn't he (Simms) a Titan already?

I think we bring Brink up. What the hell, it's not like we're going anywhere at this point anyway. Bring him up and let him hold the clip board.

I think the Titans cut Simms several weeks back.

Yeah - he's still a Titan. Inactive on most if not all game days, but still a Titan.

Plummer's rights are still controlled by the Bucs, so while I'm thinking the suggestion wasn't serious, it's not an option regardless.

I think you're right about Brink. Last year they brought Boyd in under similar circumstances, and he had zero NFL experience beyond preseason.

Brink is in the exact same boat, but with a full off season, pre-season and half a regular season practicing in the system. If you're looking for anyone besides Brink & Boyd with experience in their system, you're pretty much back to Bradlee Van Pelt, and Quinn Gray. I was actually kind of impressed by Boyd in preseason, but if the powers that be liked him, I imagine he'd be on the PS right now.

The Fossil is about 81 today but he probably moves better than Schaub today.

Dan Pastorini! And while we're at it, bring in Bum Phillips as the new DC!

I bet Dan could still throw it 60 yards.

We could probably get Wade Phillips from Jerra for a pack of Skoal.
