For as high as he's rated and as much as he's acheived in personal records, I'd have to say Manning right now.

question can Manning actually be considered the best QB in football right now????....I mean how can you be the best when you consistently choke?

    EDIT

LOL @ metrosexual.....it's kind of ironic that a backup hasn't recieved a vote yet...

I voted Grossman but taken his inconsistency into account it wouldn't exactly be a choke...just same old Rex. Now that I think about it, Manning choking wouldn't exactly be front page news either. Rivers will be relying on LT and the defense most of the time so unless he does something really stupid, it's hard to see him choking.

A lot of his stats come from running up the score.

This is true, and a lot of folks use those same stats to prop up the argument that he's the current "best NFL QB". Obviously, I disagree and think he's in the top 5, but I'd put Brady above him any day of the week, IMHO.

I'll take clutch play over stat play every time.

I am by no means a fan of Brees, but I have to admit that at this point, I think he's better than Manning. Colston and Horn aren't quite Harrisson and Wayne.

I voted for Rex Grossman, but I think I would change my vote to Peyton. I don't know if Grossman can really choke when he's already terrible.

    Rex Grossman for sure.
I'm going against all of you on Manning. I think this is going to be his breakout post season. I think that San Diego is going to the big one, but, for me, Manning will surprise people this weekend.....maybe.....me.:hides:

An average performance by Grossman is equal to a Manning choke. That said, I think it will be Manning who will choke.

I'd have to vote for manning because he usually isnt the greatest when it counts and Rex Grossman doesnt really choke hes just very inconsistent.

I think that Rivers gets pressured all afternoon by the Patriot defense, who will be stacking the box against LT and will try and make Rivers beat him.

Eventually I think he'll be the type of QB that can handle this kind of pressure, but now is much too soon.

lol, so brees is better than manning because colston and horn aren't as good as wayne and harrison. fascinating logic.

I think Rivers' last five starts he's only completed 50% of his passes...but...obviously it didn't cost them too much....

Having said that I pick him, Rivers, as the most likely to choke...

Among other things. That just sticks out the most. Ever notice the best QB in the league also has the best WR corps?

believe it or not, it IS possible for a quarterback to be great AND his receivers to be great.

but what other reasons make you believe brees is better than manning?
