I dunno, but I think it was O'Brien and not the Board who spoke to BG and reminded him to hold the third round pic for that San Daego State TE when BG was contemplating moving up to outbid Philly for Dillard.

Joppru was a slacker and troublemaker for the most part of his college career. His work ethic in general made him a perfect set up for injuries when he for the first time had to truly push himself to the max in order to try to make it in the NFL.

Life turns around for UM’s Joppru

And as far as his foot injury, I wouldn't be very worried about it. It was a Jones fracture. . He came back in 2017 without further foot problems to date. If the repaired Jones fracture were going to a problem (refracture/non-union common.......~10-20% of cases), it would have reappeared by now.

Water polo is an unbelievably vicious sport.......so much happens under the water that unless you've ever played, you can't imagine...........worse than at the bottom of a NFL pile..............so much so that it has become known as "the blood in the water sport."

Water polo, a rough but increasingly popular sport in Illinois, searches for concussion solutions

.....................James Hicks, director of the University of California at Irvine’s Center for Exercise Medicine and Sports Sciences, has found that just over a third of water polo players say they’ve suffered a concussion during their careers. For goalies, it’s close to half........................

Warring was a goalie. Have not been able to find any documentation that he sustained a concussion.

It's great that Warring is clearly going to be the greatest TE in history, heck, the greatest player in history in any sport ever. I am looking forward to the "10 Best Draft Picks Ever" show in a couple of years "#2 Tom Brady - 6th round, and of course, #1 Kahale Warring - 3rd round!" I am sure the HOF will suspend the 5 year wait for him because waiting would just make them look silly.

What I don't understand is, where was all this enthusiasm before the 86th pick was announced? Did anyone on the planet think he was going before the 7th round? (OK, not counting his mother who projected him in the 6th.) Did any pundits have him as the "best available" at the start of the draft? At least after the 2nd round? By the Texans pick? Anyone?

If he was so good after the 86th pick, why wasn't anyone banging the table for him at pick 55? Or 54? Or 23? Why didn't the Texans package all their draft picks for the next 3 years and Deshaun Watson to move up in the 1st to make sure they got this guy?

Seems like either he is being over-hyped since the pick, or he was the most under the radar guy ever before the pick. I can see that flipping after he wins a third or fourth Super Bowl MVP, but not the instant he gets drafted.

What is the buzz in Houston regarding his contract negotiations and what the hang ups might be? Because he attended the rookie camp I thought he was on the verge of signing?

Don't understand the rush to rain on someones (posters) parade.

It's ok if some wish to be enthusiastic about the future of our team and its players.

It's actually like a breath of fresh air among all the negativity.

^ Just read through the posts from Rotoworld. Jeremiah had him as his 67th rated prospect, Zierlein compared him to Todd Heap, and countless others pegged him as a huge upside sleeper prospect for this draft. Take that for what it is.

I know there was a lot of sarcasm in your post, but nowhere I saw while researching this draft class had Warring as low as a 6th or 7th round pick. If I recall correctly, most pegged him as a 3rd-4th round pick.

Gil Brandt had Warring ranked 98th. Teams reach all the time for need and system fit. Both apply to Texans and his selection @ #86th but pretty damn close to fair value according to Brandt.

Because of his slot, Spotrac projects contract total value $3,716,535, signing bonus $888,803 and cap hit $717,20

Can always find different grades/evaluations, just that Brandt has been doing it longer, better, than anyone which is reason why his should be heavier weighted. Frankly without more tape I wouldn’t take the risk, or grade him at all, your just projecting because of physical attributes with expectations you can coach him up and when has a Texan coaching staff done that? I’m sure there are some examples but odds stacked against it before some nagging injury sets in.

I think that Warring will be the starting TE, especially with the release of Griffin.
