Week 9 Help as well...

Blake

MMQB
I am having trouble convincing myself to take the better matchup plays over the better players and need some outside assistance.

I run in a league with a basic setup.

1QB
2RB
2WR
1TE
1 Flex RB/WR
1 K
1 DST

Quarterback: I have 2 good ones in Jay Cutler vs. MIA and Aaron Rodgers @ Ten. Oh and they both had bye weeks last week so I picked up Matt Schaub who had an awesome game for me. But he wont get the nod this week. Obviously Cutler has the better matchup and basically gets about the same amount of points. What do you think?

RunningBack: Graham @ KC, Jones-Drew @Cin, Lynch vs. NYJ, Matt Forte vs. DET. I am going to run the RB in my flex spot since I have such good matchups this week. KC and CIN are 2 of the worst run defense teams in the league, and DET is right there as well. But that would leave out by #1RB Lynch on the bench. He is going against a defense who is one of the better run defenses in the league and has only given up 7 TD's on the ground all year I think. What do you think?

WR: Wayne vs. NE, Plaxico vs. DAL, Boldin @ STL and Roddy White @ OAK. White and Boldin have the best matchups, Plax has been bad the past x weeks, and Wayne has the worst matchup against NE, but is my #1 WR. So I have White and Boldin getting the nod. What do you think?

TE: Gates is on his bye so Daniels gets the nod.

K: I have 2 good ones in Prater and Gostkowski. I am going Prater because they are at home vs. MIA and NE is on the road. What do you think?

DST: I have MINN vs. HOU and TENN vs. GB. I think TENN is a better defense, but its hard not to play the defense that is playing the Texans even though they have been scoring alot this year. They are on the road, and MINN is a good defense. GB has a more balanced attack and is a playoff team at this point. Im going with Minn. What do you think?

Thanks for taking the time to read and help me out.

I wouldn't take Jay Cutler right now. I'm not sure his finger healed yet and I doubt Denver can stop Joey Porter. We all know what pressure does to Cutler. I know how it sounds...but I'd go with Schaub.

Forte is a must, no matter the match-up. I'd go with Jones-Drew and Lynch. MJD is going up against a poor defense and I think Lynch and that Buffalo offense can overwhelm the Jets

Plax has a good matchup, the Cowboys are playing 2 rookie CBs. This is a toss up. White is going up against a good DB no matter where he is on the field and I don't know if anyone can stop Boldin.

TE: Gates is on his bye so Daniels gets the nod.

K: I have 2 good ones in Prater and Gostkowski. I am going Prater because they are at home vs. MIA and NE is on the road. What do you think?

Gostkowski just because I think NE will score more points.

I'd go with Minn. too.

There are 8 teams in the league.

My draft.

The Magic Man
1. (2) Tom Brady
2. (15) Reggie Wayne
3. (18) Marshawn Lynch
4. (31) Antonio Gates
5. (34) Plaxico Burress
6. (47) Anquan Boldin
7. (50) Maurice Jones-Drew
8. (63) Earnest Graham
9. (66) Owen Daniels
10. (79) Roddy White
11. (82) Matt Forte
12. (95) Stephen Gostkowski
13. (98) Jerricho Cotchery
14. (111) Tennessee
15. (114) Ricky Williams
16. (127) Jay Cutler

Damn! You should definitely be 1st in your league with that draft. Nice value on Cutler in the 16th.

Actually yes I am in 1st (6-2)

All the teams are stacked due to only having 8 teams.

Losing Brady was a big hit. Actually how I got my first loss. But solid drafting like Boldin, Jones-Drew and Graham in round 6,7,8 and taking chances on players like White and Forte paid off.

And how Cutler lasted so long is crazy. I guess people saw the diabetic Cutler from last year, and would rather take players like Favre, and Gerrard.

Here's how I see it..

I am having trouble convincing myself to take the better matchup plays over the better players and need some outside assistance.

I run in a league with a basic setup.

1QB
2RB
2WR
1TE
1 Flex RB/WR
1 K

Okay, here I think you have to go with Cutler no matter what. He's been better all year, plus not too bad of a match-up

I'm thinking Graham, Jones-Drew and Forte here. All bad defenses

Wayne here would still be a good play, NEs D is only giving up 12 yards passing less then the Raiders per game, and they have given up 2 more passing TDs. With the Colts startin to get it a bit better that would be a decent play. I would start him and Boldin, for obvious reasons for Boldin..

TE: Gates is on his bye so Daniels gets the nod.

K: I have 2 good ones in Prater and Gostkowski. I am going Prater because they are at home vs. MIA and NE is on the road. What do you think?

I would go with Gostkowski here, not too big of a difference

DST: I have MINN vs. HOU and TENN vs. GB. I think TENN is a better defense, but its hard not to play the defense that is playing the Texans even though they have been scoring alot this year. They are on the road, and MINN is a good defense. GB has a more balanced attack and is a playoff team at this point. Im going with Minn. What do you think?

I would go with the Tennessee defense. Although Minnesota has a pretty good defense, they haven't lived up to their billing so far this season, and are giving up 22 PPG, which is not too far off what we are getting on offense. It's their run defense that scares me, but I think the passing game will win the battle. Tennessee plays everything really well... 4th in pass D, 10 in rush D.
