"The Minnesota Vikings finally have insurance if youngster Tarvaris Jackson fails to perform behind center. The Vikings traded for Eagles veteran quarterback Kelly Holcomb on Monday, FOXSports.com has learned.

The Eagles will receive a sixth-round draft pick in 2008. The two sides have been talking about a deal for several weeks, but looming roster cuts pushed the trade forward."

Tarvaris Jackson, Brooks Bollinger, and Kelly Holcomb on one team. Defensive coordinators around the league all just collectively yawned.

And Kelly Holcomb hasn't embarrassed himself either.

Nevertheless, if I were a Vikings fan I'd be awfully glad that I had Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor in the backfield. Heck, if I was Tarvaris Jackson I'd be tickled to have them. That running game should be a bigger help to him than anything during his first year as a full-time starter.
