So now they are cutting lean before finishing trimming off the fat (Jacoby Jones).

I doubt it. Probably just looking to find another diamond in the rough like they did with Leach.

No loss. Casey can handle the role if we don't pick anyone up.

I didn't think Vickers was a good fit for the offense. He was a bruiser no doubt but he wasn't very quick at all. This is just the impression I got and I have done zero research to back it up. Leach was quick to the hole and then knocked someone out, Vickers was a little slower to the hole if you ask me. Anyone know what we were paying him?

What is going on? We have a roster of about 25 now. This is crazy!

What's going on is that Rick Smith is doing Super Bowl or bust. He's laser-focused.

Also, I think they're planning something massive. I don't think all of these moves are JUST to sign Mario. There's some other kind of big splash they're about to make.

meh... I was unrealistically optimistic about the Vickers signing.
Lawrence, you are free to fade into obscurity...

It's all part of the brilliant Smithiak master plan to sign Manning, Mario, and then trade Schaub even up for Tom Brady. Have to have a backup in case the ole neck doesn't hold up. :cowboy1:

It would seem that we are getting rid of spare parts and players who have not lived up to their contract.

You can do more things with Casey, but he isn't close to being as good a straight up run blocker as Vickers.

Casey was great before he got injured. Hopefully that injury was just a fluke and he'll be able to give us a full season this year.

How are you holding up with Winston being cut? You were the first thing that I thought of when I heard the news. I know he was really big with your charity. Hopefully he'll continue to give you his support, regardless of what team he goes to.
