I don't know if he was injured, out of shape, or what, but the Saint's cut him today.

I think he is supposed to be a big guy...350+. Extremely athletic but needing to lose quite a bit of weight to keep any sort of endurance.

What do you do to not make it to the 13th minute of camp?

I heard something to the effect that Payton didn't think he was in good enough shape to even start working or something like that.

obliviously Payton didnt think he was in good enough shape to get through the OTA sessions. No one wants a guy to drop dead during their offseason workouts. He probably needs to dedicate himself to conditioning if he ever wants to get a sniff of the NFL.

I think the Texans should pick him up immediately and then get their strength and conditioning coach to work with him on getting into shape. Even if he can't make the team this year, he could be put on the practice squad for a year while he gets into playing shape. Then, next year he could compete for playing time at the Nose Tackle position.
