At this point, I don't care the cost, protect Deshaun and get him a competent left tackle.
If O'Brien thinks this is his Do or Die year perhaps they will do a lot differently. This trade could just be filling a need. However it could be just the beginning
Why would O'Brien think this is a 'Do or Die' year?
I dont believe OB believes his seat is even warm TBH.
The Texans didnt go after a GM after the Caserio thing... we all know that.. like everything else... that is OBs guy.
Why would he feel the warmth of even the sloghtest fart in his seat when he knows that "his guy" wont be available to be the GM until next season?
Then he has the built in ecuse that Caserio didnt get to draft his guys since as I believe he wont be free from contract til after the draft.
So you are looking at the buttchinned weasel sticking around at least 3 more seasons... but God I pray I am wronger than Robert DeNiro in a dress licking a cats face.
It is my belief that Cal McNair fired the GM and told O'Brien there needs to be a huge difference in this year. I also think this explains some of the comments about O'Brien loosing his control and allowing coaches coach. I realize I am in the minority here.
It's year 2 of a 3 year rebuild
Why do you think we're rebuilding?
Being mediocre forever shouldn't be acceptable.
But... unfortunately mediocrity is what we do best... just look at our track history as the Texans.
Of course... we went from competent mediocrity to inept mediocrity... but its been there in one shape or another almost from the beginning.
I miss the days of competent mediocrity.... but Im so tired of mediocrity entirely.
@steelbtexan told me
Actually, it’s year 5 of the “3 year rebuild.” The everlasting O’Brien rebuild, that is...
6 I agree with your accounting method.
I’ve lost count.
Sorry to bring reality into the discussion.
This is the Texans org we're talking about.
Been a clusterf*** since day one ….
I'm pretty sure it's year 18 of the McNair rebuild.
4th time's the charm? Or maybe 5th?
If another teams OT goes down with injury for year there will be a bidding war. We need to be doing this now.
Too bad we have a sociopath, power hungry, stubborn sumbetch for a HC/OC/GM.
By the way, that was an amateur diagnosis. I’m not a medical doctor. If my amateur diagnosis offends you, boo-phookin-whoo!
Totally agree. They are going to hammer us as it is, but it's not going to get any better. Bite the bullet, meet or come close to their asking price if it's even close to reasonable and let's fix LT for a change instead of having a turnstile out there.
It could be the difference between being an also-ran and a contender this year. It's that important.
I just don't think it will happen because there is no urgency on Kirby.
