Just when you thought a Super Bowl run couldn't be any harder. I'll be praying for you and your family Tony.

    On ESPN.com:

"James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead at 1:30 a.m. ET Thursday in his apartment in Lutz, Fla., a suburb of Tampa, Debbie Carter, a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, confirmed Thursday.

A death investigation is under way, and the spokesperson said that the county medical examiner's office or the hospital at which James Dungy was pronounced dead would have a ruling on the cause of death.

James Dungy officially was pronounced dead this morning at University Community Hospital in Tampa.

Tony Dungy has left the Colts and is in Tampa. Indianapolis plays at Seattle this Saturday."

Horrible news, my prayers go out to Tony's Family and friends

So sorry to hear this. Tony Dungy is a total class act, and I will be praying for him and his family. Of course, I will wait to hear the facts before speculating, but it's unlikely that this was of natural causes. It kind of puts football in perspective.

Man, what a bummer. Coach Dungy is such a classy guy. :(

Really sad that it has to be right before Christmas, too.

My condolences as well. You're right it does put football in its proper place. I'd honestly have to say I'd be done for the season.

Such saddness at a time of year when there should be nothing but joy and celebration. My thoughts and prayers will be with the Dungy family as they try to deal with this horrible tragedy. BE THANKFUL fellow Texans for all the good things you have in your life today! Life can certainly throw us some nasty curves.

Where did you see this? All I have been seeing is that there doesn't seem to be any foul play involved.

Terrible thing for Tony Dungy and his family - all of our thoughts and prayers
go out to him. I just hope the press respects he and his family and doesn't make a media circus out of it, though I would not put it past them. After all,
the Colts with their winning streak were the "on field" story in the NFL this year, and the media may look upon this as the "off field" story to go along with it (depending on what the circumstances are). Number one consideration is the respect and privacy Tony and his family deserve.

OMG, what a horrible turn of events. Prayers to Tony Dungy and family for their loss. What a time of year to have to endure this, I wish the best for the entire family and hope the media shows class on handling this.

I have not seen an actual report for the death, but I heard he hung himself?

Please stop. Unless you know, please don't speculate with something like this.

A loss is a loss. It does not matter of what killed him, but it does matter on the effect it will have. Losing a son for me, no matter what the case, would be a nightmare. I cannot, and wish I dont, ever have to face this horrible, horrible experience. I am not a religious man to say, but I pray that if something does exist, to help Tony through this. He will need all the help he can muster to move on from this.

The colts board is flooded with condolences from all over the world (from indy, to tampa, to manchester) so I'll post some condolences here too.

I can't imagine having to lose your child 3 days before christmas. And knowing how much Tony loved his family, this brought a tear to my eye.

Prayers should go out to the Dungy family. Their 18 year old son was found dead in his Tampa apartment. Please keep this in mind when you go home and remember your loved ones cause you never know when your last time will be together.
