Good things happening in Tack land. Let's see--we'll plan all off-season and thru the 1st three pres-season games for Volek to start and then swap horses right before the season starts. Obviously upgrading (?) Volek with Collins is much more important than figuring out what to do with a run D giving up 200+ ypg at a 5.5 ypc clip.

Turmoil is good. 5-11 might be a stretch for that team this year.

Niether Collins or Volek seem a good mentor choice for the Young one. Only one will be retained.

Losing McNair to the Ratbirds was the worst thing that could have happened to Vince. Not that I'm complaining....

Nobody could have been any worse than Chris Chandler mentoring McNair. As I recall, that was a little non-comfy for a while.

And the coaching situation is a mess contractually. It would be non-surprising if Young has new coaches next year.

    Wow.

Have I mentioned recently how much I'm glad we've got Bob and not Bud? That's just nasty. Good luck Titan fans, now you're just STARTING to see Bud in all his glory.

Isn't it ironic that we let McNair go and signed the guy that we passed on to take McNair in the 95 draft?

    Irony anyone?

BTW I don't like this decision. But on the other hand we have 0 passing TDs this preseason...So I honestly don't know what to think right now.

Did the Raiders get rid of Collins before or after they were in a situation where they felt the need to bring in a QB who hasn't had a snap in 5 yearS?

Actually Collins was the #2 pick that year, Boselli*? was #1 and Steve was #3 pick?

Reese and the Oilers bypassed Collins at #3 and took McNair in what was considered a bit of a risk. Collins - the 'sure thing' that year - went #5 to Carolina.

Frickin' Collins. LOL! Went to Penn State when he was there for that big year of his. Man he rocked in College and sad that has not been a huge impact in the NFL. Was doing well at Carolina until that mess happened.

Bud and crew have created one heck of a mess...............Volek is p*ssed and is not shy in letting the Titans know it..........great environment for Young.........maybe Bud can get out there and mentor him himself if he glues his toupe on tightly enough. Story from Sports Illustrated
