He went from being the luckiest guy ever (very avg player who got lucky in the super bowl) to going to the hole for nort. Idiot! Didn't he go to Texas Tech? Like Bam Morris? At least Bam is still bowling them over in Katy. In 1988, Timmy Smith set a Super Bowl record, running for 204 yards in the Washington Redskins' 42-10 rout of the Denver Broncos. Now it appears he'll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of that feat in prison. According to Reuters wire report, Smith was sentenced in federal court on Friday to two-and-a-half years in prison for conspiring to distribute cocaine. Smith, 42, apologized during the hearing before U.S. District Judge Lewis Babcock, saying, "I have made a mistake and I wasn't raised this way." The former Redskin was arrested along with his brother, Christopher, last fall after the pair sold roughly $20,000 worth of cocaine to undercover agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Timmy Smith pleaded guilty in March to the conspiracy charge after federal prosecutors agreed to drop eight additional cocaine-trafficking counts. Christopher Smith pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting and earlier this month was sentenced to five years of probation.
