I know people like to look at tie breakers at this time of year.

Among the 5-9 teams, who is the best? Worst?

    Browns
    Cowboys
    Texans
    49ers
    Redskins

I suspect this is the order. The Texans are a mediocre 5-9 team!

Looks about right, which is painful to say.

Another terrible thing I just realized- at the end of the season, the Texans will have the worst draft pick of the teams with the same record as the Texans. That ruins my silver lining a bit...

The only difference I would make is Dallas ahead of Cleveland. Dallas is 4-2 since Garrett took over, while Cleveland has lost to Cincinnati & Buffalo the past two weeks.

Because the Texans corners are getting a little long in the tooth.

We drafted a CB last year to fill a need and now we are going to draft another one ?? Oh yeah we need to clean house yesterday.

We need a safety! It has never been a priority for 9 years running. We are due!

Did anybody see how bad Pollard blew the coverage on Britt?

i know i put this is a different thread but i thought it was appropriate for this as well....

From what i have seen in alot of mock drafts is that there probably wont be any or maybe just 1 FS going in the first round it seems that there arnt to many outside rahim moore and duenta williams. Unless they have incredible combines they will fall in the 2nd.

In my opinion FS is our main priority but i dont think we should draft them in the first round. Maybe get them in the 2nd or trade up in the 2nd to get them.

DT seems to have a few prospects especially if we land from 11-15 in the draft. players like paea come to mind.

If however we get a top 10 pick, i think we try go for one of the two corners.
But i have my reservations because i still feel that because we spent a 1st on a CB last year and that they are still young i would give them another year and probably add a veteran from FA.

OLB is clearly a problem because diles cannot be relied upon (im hoping for bruce carter from NC)

in the Draft i think we draft:
    1st - a DT - paea
2nd - FS and OLB - williams and carter (because hopefully we can trade something with slaton jj and a pick) ..... only trade JJ if we get someone in FA
Then in later rounds draft a WR, O-line (C and G), P (not in that specific order).

in FA we should be looking at a speedy WR, C , and a veteran CB (i.e champ bailey).

if we can address either a DT, FS, OLB in FA that would be fantastic.
but unless we see some sort of change in coaching and or mentality from owners i dont see much happening in FA.

I would not hesitate to take another corner. I think GQ would make a great FS.

I could see a draft like this. In fact drafting a DT in the 1st and an WLB in the 2nd. Then trading back up into the bottom of the 2nd and picking the best S prospect. (Carter or Barron would be my choice)

this would be an aggressive move to address all 3 layers of the defense with talented playmakers.

The DT selected depends on the HC. Kubes = Paea, Cowher= Fua or Powe in the 2nd rd.

BTW, B. Carter just had surgery on his ACL and will miss the combine.

With Cowher coming in and switching to the 34 look for us to draft a big nasty MF to play nose.

    JK.

Kubes will still be here and we will probably draft a project player that will need a few years to develop at the 9 spot.

Sharpton has been playing pretty good lately. I think we should adress other positions before WLB.

How do you get mediocre out of 5-9 ? FYI that's a .350 winning % but .650 losing % ? You are really some kind of pollyanna there fella ?
