In 10 minutes there will be a live press conference.
Can anyone tell us what was said?
Impressed with Travis Johnson.
McKinney gets the start at center next week. Anderson and Clark will split the reps at SOLB with the starters.
I lost the stream, it's no longer up. Some other items -
Why the pass protection is better? QB is getting rid of the ball quicker. O-Linemen are more confident in schemes and are not being moved around as much in the past.
Is Walter still the #2 WR? Yes, Walter is the #2. Jacoby is 2 1/2. The 3 in the 3 WR set are rock solid.
Running the ball and play action passing were the main thrust of the gameplan.
Next week will be viewed as a regular week, with game planning.
Also, they are keeping 5, possibly 6, receivers and work on special teams will count towards that.
He also talked a bit about Mario and how they want to get him into positions to cause havoc. They want him getting close to and worrying the QB even if he doesn't get the sack. I came in after he had started talking but he was comparing Mario to someone that he, Kubiak, had played with and how they see him in a role similar to whoever that was. I just didn't hear who he was talking about.
He said that except for that first play, CC had played well but there were some communications issues between him and Simmons.
Would it be so difficult for the Texans to put a boom mic out to pickup the freakin' questions? McClain is such a mumbler.
Yeah, there was one answer that I have no idea what it was because I couldn't hear the question. I understood all the individual words in Kubiak's answer but without the context of the question, I couldn't put them together in a way that made sense.
I mailed them about this a couple of years back, no response...
For those who missed the prersser you can always check them out here!
And in this version, it's easier to hear the questions.
did i here him say zach diles would be in some nickle packages? thought he wasnt that fast?
That's what I thought I heard.
Here's a transcript without the mumbling:
(more to come)
Now when you see articles written on these subjects, think about what quotes were used and not used. It's often interesting.
Thanks a bunch for the data dump T_C!! I missed the feed.
Wonder why no one asked about the KC trade rumors.... Or maybe that's all they are is rumors.
(on the play of LB Danny Clark) You know, Danny, he flashed. He did some good things. He struggled in some of our schemes. But there are just a couple of mental mistakes and stuff that we can get corrected. But he continues to flash as a physical player. You know, I think thats a very tough call between him and Charlie. As I told yall before, Charlie (Anderson) has done nothing wrong. I think well probably split them right down the middle this week and see what happens. He did some good things, but he had some things hes got to correct.
So I guess Charlie Adams has definately moved ahead of Orr? Now the battle is between Adams and Clark?
"I think one of the things that can help Mario tremendously is understanding down and distance better and just the overall picture of the game"
C'mon Coach, thats gotta be one of the lamest explanations I've heard to date about Marios problems. Even some of the more unsophisticated NFL fans
know the difference between a passing down and a rushing down. If Mario
doesn't, he may the only player on your whole roster who doesn't.
But its easy to see why Kubiak is starting to get real touchy and defensive about questions re Marios performance. Contrary to the looks of his onfield performance in this preseason, its not his rookie year but his second year in the league. Marios play in the game this weekend against the Cowboys is looming large.
Thanks for posting TC. Just a few notes here.
Good news on Travis.REALLY good news.
Orr will prolly be used as a rushing LB as he should and i think we have a solid LB corps now.Funny how it was viewed as perhaps a weakness on the team last year and this year will anchor the defense IMO.
Offense looked a lot better. One step closer to was it the line or QB. Still need to finish drives though.
I'll admit i was nervous on the Jones selection. Sold. Quick Question though who'll be the guy opposite on Mathis on kickoffs? Our Return teams should give teams absolute fits this year. I love that.
It is now official Williams is the new Whipping boy.
It's only going to get worse when everyone watches Bush this year.
