The Texans Current and Ongoing Divisional, Conference, and Wild card situation

So @ week 7, the seedings look like:

1) Pats
2) Steelers
3) Chargers
4) Texans
5) Bills
6) Ravens

The Bills @ Texans would be your wild card round matchup. i hope the Bills can stay ahead of the Jets.

Interesting to note that of the 12 AFC teams at .500 or better, there's only one team to beat teams who have a combined record of better than .500. That team is the Buffalo Bills.

In the Bills 4 wins, the teams they beat have a combined record of 14-11.

Buffalo (4 wins) 14-11
Oakland (4) 13-13
Tennessee (3) 8-8
Baltimore (4) 13-14
New England (5) 15-17
New York (4) 9-16
Cincinnati (4) 9-17
Houston (4) 8-18
Kansas City (3) 5-16
San Diego (4) 6-19
Pittsburgh (5) 8-24
Cleveland (3) 2-17

So @ week 7, the seedings look like:

1) Pats
2) Steelers
3) Chargers
4) Texans
5) Bills
6) Ravens

The Bills @ Texans would be your wild card round matchup. i hope the Bills can stay ahead of the Jets.

The Bengals are actually 4-1 in AFC as compared to ravens and bills 3-1. They all have 1 division win. so Ravens wouldn't have made the playoffs if the season ended today.

1) Pats
2) Steelers
3) Chargers
4) Texans
5) Bengals
6) Bills

so we would play the Bengals at Reliant.

Week 8 Upcoming games: Who to Cheer For

Colts @ Titans - How about the Colts getting on the board this week with a W :pop: Tacks fans will be in tears...

Cardinals @ Ravens - After their showing against the Jags last week you would think this to be a huge bounce back game for that offense, but we'll see... A loss right here would hurt.

Patriots @ Steelers- Now I say a Steelers loss here would be good.... just in future HF possibilities and potential seedings in the postseason... we have the edge over them

Chargers @ Chiefs - Chiefs get a big win at home and really turn that division into a race... Chargers fall back a little in the division and WC standing.

Bengals @ Seahawks - Very young team on the road... Could be a potential upset by Seattle... Of course a win by the Bengals keeps things close in the AFC North race.. so not much of an issue here win or lose.

Redskins @ Bills - I'll root for the Bills here to keep that division close and keep them in it for a possible WC... I wouldn't mind playing the Bills come playoff time.

The Browns do play this week, but I could care less... They have to be the worst 3-3 team ever and are not gonna be in this thing late in the season anyways...

We have a somewhat confident Jags team coming to Reliant Sunday.... LET'S CRUSH THEM! :kingkong:

Since everyone is doing the seedings....

Going by the remaining schedule for each team at this point.. This is how I predict things to end up if these teams continue to play like how they have been and how I feel things appear they will shake up.

Division Winners:

AFC South- Texans #2
AFC North- Steelers #3
AFC East- Patriots #1
AFC West- Chargers #4

Wild Card teams:

AFC East- Bills
AFC North- Ravens

Wild Card games:

Bills @ Chargers
Ravens @ Steelers

Divisional Round:

Steelers @ Texans
Bills @ Patriots

AFC Championship:

Texans @ Patriots :shades:

* Now we may not win that 1st home game, but I do believe that we will have a 1st rd. bye. :fans:

Wouldn't it be nice :D

Interesting... could it be that Buffalo is actually for real???
:mcnugget:

Perhaps or it could be because they beat the Pats and the one bottom feeder team that they killed.... The Chiefs.... Have just gotten better since and won 3 in a row after starting 0-3 by beating terrible teams... Not to mention the Raiders are gonna being doing much worse the rest of the season

:mcnugget:

It looks that way.

But an equally important question is, can they keep it up?

Last year's Texans were as for real as they could be... just couldn't sustain after their 4-2 start.

If it unfolds like you say, we're going to the Super Bowl. The Pats have to outscore everybody because their defense is suspect - 26th in total defense and 31st in passing defense. We're 11th and 14th, respectively, in those catagories AND we're number two in takeaway/giveaway differential. So I think we can take 'em

...but I'm getting ahead of myself and I don't like to do that....
thinking of the possibilities makes me crazy

Yeah, but don't forget... That's an AFC championship game in Foxborough and Brady has never lost one of those... Just the thought of it though makes me :good:

Brrrr....

You know the Pats have a stretch of tough games coming up starting with the Steelers this Sunday.
10/30 - @ Steelers
11/06 - Giants
11/13 - @ Jets
11/21 - Chiefs
11/27 - @ Eagles

All those teams have good to very good offenses (okay, maybe not the Chiefs) and fairly good defenses. It's entirely possible they pick up two or three losses in that stretch. And they have to play the Bills again. So it's possible, (admittedly not very likely) that they may not be the top seed.

So who are we rooting for this week?
Well this is who I will be rooting for:

Texans over Browns - For obvious reasons.
Colts over Falcons - They're winless, need wins to avoid drafting Luck.
Bengals over Titans - Would be great for the Titans to lose plenty of games.
Chiefs over Dolphins - AFC West is all tied, Chiefs seem easiest to beat in playoffs? Dolphins keep losing to get Luck over Colts!
Bills over Jets - Bills seem more beatable if we play them in playoffs; Can't stand Rex and the Jets.
Seattle over Dallas - Just cause.
49'ers over Redskins - Just cause.
Saints over Bucs - Just cause.
Raiders over Broncos - Keeps Broncos in Suck for Luck race.
Giants over Patriots - Wouldn't that be something if the Pats miss the playoffs?
Packers over Chargers - Go Cheese! More losses for AFC team too.
Rams over Cardinals - Just cause.
Steelers over Ravens - B/c we beat the Steelers and lost to Ravens.
Bears over Eagles - Dream Team? Uhm no.

Jaguars, Panthers, Lions Vikings - Bye Week

Titans in a close game here. Side note...Dalton is the real deal it looks like and so is Green....hopefully he leads them to the win.
