He's just now making his name known in OTA's because during 7 on 7's he did his best JJ Watt impression and snagged the ball out of the air at the line of scrimmage and returned it for a TD.

Now...how he ended up a Houston Texan..

I like to see the Texans giving someone a chance even if they might have a slight police record. It wasn't thuggish, he wasn't robbing someone, he just smoked a little something and got caught. Kids do it.

Now thanks to @JaysonBraddock , he had some inside info on Willie Jefferson and he could be one to keep your eyes on in the preseason.

    Consider me intrigued.

Great athlete. I hope he does well at OLB. Gives the lb corps a little bit of depth.

Here's a video of him vs. Northwestern State.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRhoUc7HjsA

    A few highlights in there.

4:35 - Moves so quick off the line and with his long stride makes it hard to prepare for him because he blows by you. Beats double team for easy sack.

6:42 - Blow by the RT with ease and comes within a millisecond of making the sack. QB got the ball out extremely quick and even then he was almost stripped.

7:23 - Love this play. He beats the RT with an inside jab and then bull rushes past the RB to make the sack. He didn't just settle for the sack he went for the strip. He runs in on the QB after beating the attempted double team and punches the ball out of there.

7:36 - He starts off by pretending to try a speed rush to the outside but then hits the LT with a swim move to the inside. Long arms and very fast hands. (You can see it when you watch) He has a free rush to the QB who throws it but Jefferson is already in his face and he just slaps the ball away for a Pass Deflection.

7:45 - Beats the LT with ease and then jumps up to almost bat the pass down.

He starts off slow because being at 233 he's not going to offer much in the run game but he starts to heat up when the other team needs to start passing. Almost unfair to watch him play vs. these Tackles. Not even close.

Constantly beating double teams. Not going to happen in the NFL (obviously) but he was definitely the best player on the field and that was obvious.

If you have 8 minutes to spare it's a pretty good video overall and some of the plays he made resulted in his teammates getting sacks.

It's funny because i've been at McDonald's and a Taco Bell before and have had to wait for over 20 minutes for my food.

    Being high probably doesn't help.

When I would go up to SFA to watch my brother play, Willie Jeff stuck out. He gave qb's fits and with that long frame he had me intrigued.

DB's son was a specimen too.

It was mentioned that he was kinda light. How much weight does he need to put on to be effective?

A lot. He would be better served playing OLB in the 3-4 that we run.

    OLB, not DE! :foottap:

If he can get to 255 as mentioned, he should be just fine. :smiliedance:

He is very fluid, cat quick even. Best out on edge, downhill. Would like to watch him & Bramen battle but is probably a year behind. If coach able, works hard & eats right dedicating himself to become capable special teams member he could be a real diamond in the rough down the road @ OLB.

We're not getting any younger, that's for sure!:handshake:

I really like this group of rookies and UDFAs.
It's impossible to predict whether any of them will make the roster and which ones will make the PS.

I found a little video on him. During OTA's he snagged a ball out of the air and returned it for a TD.

I think 12 seconds into the video is probably what it looked like.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but with TC a week away, i've been looking up some potential players that could make the roster or PS.

According to the roster he's wearing number 63 for the Texans.
