Watch the two players from SFA go down at precisely the same time as A&M is trying to run a hurry up offense. You will know exactly when the signal from the sidelines comes in calling for the player(s) to have a leg cramp.

Tulsa and SMU run this kind of crap all the time against UH.

Sooner or later, the NCAA is going to have to make a new rule about faking injuries.

I was at the game and SFA did this more than a couple of times.

That to me right there is cheating. Pass interference, holding, etc aren't cheating but they are definitely against the rules, they're penalties and part of the game. Faking injuries to stop the clock is flat out cheating. This sort of thing should be looked at by the NCAA and have repercussions.

It was pretty blatent in the first half. In the 2nd half, when they were getting blown out (and you'd think the real cramps would actually set it) it magically stopped.

It's pretty bush league. I know it's an FCS team vs a BCS team, but they are are supposed to be top 10 in the FCS and they getting paid to take the whipping they did.

Thanks for the laugh, that was funny. It's kinda like when Ghana did this against the US during overtime in the World Cup.

What about when the Texans do it to the Colts on Sunday? Will that be cheating?

That is a very common ploy against Manning and the Colts.

Hell no! That will be a brilliant...err unfortunate timing for our DL to get cramps in the enviromentally controlled Reliant stadium. Damn that bad Gatorade!

If the Texans do it Sunday against the Colts, yes it will cheating and unsportsmanlike. Same is true for the Colts if they try it against us.

My brother plays for SFA...Will make sure to ask him about faking cramps...

Although he plays on offense so he might not know....

Never seen the Colts do it. But that likely due to the no huddle offense the Colts run and the fake injury ploy is something defenses do to slow the game down and that is not something the Colts defense faces.

I think the Oilers did it against the Bengals hurry up offense (IIRC)

Yeah, but no worse than the offense running up to the line of scrimmage without a huddle, and then farting around for 15 or 20 seconds before snapping the ball. The Colts don't do that to run a "hurry up" they do it so the defense can't substitute. So if they are going to "cheat" by faking a hurry up, their opponents can "cheat" to get their legitimate subs in by faking an injury.

Although, anything that makes football more like futball is a bad thing...

Hopefully Pollard knocks the piss out of Peyton "Big-Ass Forehead" Manning so hard the colts have to use a legitimate injury timeout to scrape his monkey ass up off the field!

We don't need to anymore, we've got the umpire to do that for us...

    :sarcasm:

But back to the thread, was at the game right behind the SFA bench (student section side) and it was indeed pretty bush league seeing a teammate come up to the one who ran off the field first and giving him a high five and joking around with him when he was supposedly injured.

Apparently my brother played so well during that game (didn't have many carries, but had some really good blocks) the coach called him up in front of the whole team and announced they were putting him on scholarship. Very excited for him. Walked onto the team, got playing time at special teams and LB his freshman year...switched to RB this year, earned a starting position, played so well that he was singled out for his great play and put on scholarship. Damn proud.

This just shows you the gap between Junior College and even the lower echelon of Div 1. Ju Co teams have to resort to this type of stuff to try to compete.
