Peppers will no doubt be franchised.
Asomugha will most likely be franchised.

And uh - we need a DT.

Interior lineman. Offense/defense it does not matter which preferably both. Also, a true FS.

I can dream though can't I? The Texans haven't proved to me yet that they are willing to open up the checkbooks on FA's(good FA's I might add), but maybe this year is the year.

I doubt we'll see Peppers or Asomugha, I think they'll both be tagged, and if not we probably can't afford them since we'll be signing our own peeps. We'll have at least another year to settle for building thru the draft or finding the diamond in the rough types.

New DC. A healthy Adibi back next year and another OLB to pair with him outside. Draft Duke Robinson with our first round pick.

Get another running back who can focus on short yardage/goal line
    Resign our key players
Add ONE top tier defensive Free Agent. Asomugha, Haynesworth, Lewis, Suggs, etc.

On offense, I think all we need is one more good interior lineman and a back that can grind out the tough yards. I'd very much like to see Coffee in a Texans uni.

On defense, I'd like to see a top safety, a DE that can get to the QB, and definitely a new defensive coordinator. I'd also like to see Adibi put some weight on. A replacement for Travis Johnson would also make me happy.

Also, I think I'm pretty well over the Jacoby Jones experiment. The guy can't handle punts - end of story. He can't catch. If he's incapable of making the roster on the strength of his WR abilities next spring, I'm all for cutting him. Since he can't catch, I'm guessing that's going to be tough.

Sadly, I tend to agree on Jacoby.

If he still has his issues by end of pre-season, it's time to cut ties.

It seems like everyone agrees that other than a #2 back we need all of our drafts and F/A signings to go towards our defense. If our front office feels that we have such talent shortcomings in our Defense then I doubt they will fire Smith. I mean why fire a guy who doesn't have the tools needed to do the job? I'm not advocating keeping Smith, but unless there is someone out there who could do a better job with the talent we have..... well anyway. I can't wait until we can draft the most talented players available reguardless of position. Maybe three seasons away. Oh yeah, FIRE SMITH!

Where do I sign for these two? They will be fairly expensive but those guys can play and as much as I like Diles Leroy Hill is a beast. I also believe you have his weight off a bit, hes closer to 240.

I would be highly disappointed in the Texans if they signed a big name FA this offseason and bankrupted our future by not allowing us to keep the rising young stars we have. I like the Pats approach to this. They seem to draft well and make minimal "big name" signings in the offseason. RS and GK have proven to be much more apept at the former than the latter, so why not emulate?

Here is my Texan wish list and this definately includes a change with our defensive approach.

    Free Agency:

Defensive Coordinator: Sean McDermott - 10 years under Jim Johnson as Linebacker & DB Coach. I love the blitzing scheme that the Eagles deployee.

    Free Agents:

    DE: Terrell Suggs UFA 6-3/260 - Ravens can't re-sign R. Lewis, T. Suggs & Bart Scott!!!

WR: Shaun McDonald - A true slot wr that we need for a good price.

OLB: Leroy Hill - OLB is a weakness other than Xavier Adibi.

    DT: Tank Johnson.

    CB: Re-signed Daunta Robinson

    ---------

    NFL Draft:

    1st RD: S: Taylor Mays 6-3,225 4.45 USC
2nd RD: WR: Brian Robiskie 6-3,200 4.49 OSU
    3rd RD: DT: Fili Moala 6-5 295 5.15 USC
    4th RD: DB: Ryan Palmer 5-9, 190 4.37 Texas
    5th RD: TE: Cornelius Ingram 6-4, 232 4.68 Florida
    6th RD: DE: Michael Bennett 6-4 261 4.85 Texas A&M
    7th RD: DE: Kirston Pittman, 6-4, 255 4.85 LSU

We need to act on a DC quick before all the good ones are gone. Although Frank Bush seems to be as good as hired from this viewpoint.

People I'd want to make offers to. I had Shaun Cody on the list earlier, but don't think we'd need another UT.
