The offensive line needs the most help. The Texans need to pick up a established veteran off free-agency to shore up the left side of the line. Chester Pitts is pathetic and has no business in a NFL uniform.

I'm not sure of the draft order for Houston but its probably around the 12-16th pick. The Texans should go for the best linebacker or defensive end available.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but wasn't Pitt's questionable all week with an ankle injury? Is it possible that 'pathetic' and 'no business in an NFL uniform' is a little harsh?

No Pitts has been playing poorly his entire career. His ankle is the very least of his troubles.

I think Pitts is getting by more on the fact that he has been there for every snap more than his ability, and also the fact that no one on the depth chart can challenge them.

We need Walter Jones from seattle. then draft someone in round 2-5 as an interior lineman, keep everyone else and move on from there.

Yeah, i was thinking almost the exact same thing earlier today just b4 the game. Sure Pitts has started every single game, but hell maybe thats the problem. We all know pass protection has not exactly been our friend in these first 3 years. I dont know alot about the good O-Lineman (As far as names go) in the leauge other than Odgen, but i do know Seattle has a good O-Line and if we could acquire Walter Jones, I think that would be really nice.

Pitts is our best drive blocker. He makes visible mistakes but he is a heck of a blocker most of the time. We have other linemen who can't block near as well as Chester.

I think the big issue is pass blocking. We obviously have some guys who are decent to good run blockers, but also terrible pass blockers.

True, but I just see everyone jumping on Pitts in all these multiple threads. He isn't near as bad as everyone is making him out to be. Everyone wants to point a finger at someone.

This year there are a lot of good O-linemen in the draft, and if we cant get one in free agency I would really be happy if we could get one in with one of our first two draft picks.

Well maybe you're right, but right now the glaring need is pass protection and he along with everyone else has not done that lately. You can't just be able to do one thing you gotta be able to do both. That may be the same thing as being a good LB who can stop the run. But sucks in pass coverage. Newho i think you should get my point. We need someone who will do both on a consistant basis.

However, the line has had sme serious changes their are lot of new guys who have never played together and we have a rook and all with a new scheme. Maybe they can get it together this offseason, but i dont think anyone is willing to be that patient and wait for them to "get it together".

What's your alternative? Don't kid yourself, Pitts will be a starter on the 2005 line. We just have to sit and wait, and watch their development.

Thats what im afraid of. The ideal situation would be for the guys to just "get it together" get used to each other and go out their and be a force to be reckoned with. I would love to see that. But the chances aren't likely and I'm praying that Carr doesn't be the one to pay for it (serious injury).

The guy is basically a tackling dummy out their for defenses.

I guess a hobbled Pitts is better than a full-strength Weary at LG

How did we win a single game in 2002?

While Pitts may be satisfactory as a run blocker, I have watched too many times as he nearly gets whiplash turning his head to look at his man breeze past him on his way to Carr.

Last years draft was good for O-line...don't know about this years. As for stealing away MY Seahawk players...I have some serious issues with that :shocked . There is no doubt that Walter Jones is a stud, top 3, heck maybe even top 2 LT's in the entire league. He is getting a bit longer in the tooth though, and has been getting a lot more nicked up in the last two years than prior ones, but still plays as an elite talent. Problem is that you have to break the bank for him. Regardless of how the league views him, HE and his agent feel he is the BEST O-lineman in the entire league and wants to be paid as such. He wants Ogden money and doesn't like or want to come to training camp. I guess the good news is that he doesnt appear to need it as he stepped right in and played like a Pro Bowler the last 3 years straight after missing all of camp. I don't know what your cap situation is like, but be ready to spend big bucks to get him. I doubt he will be tagged this year, so he goes to the highest bidder and it wont be the Hawks. I feel you have too many holes to fill and he will eat up a ton of cap space. If you were 1 or 2 O-line away from a playoff spot then maybe, but I feel you need to upgrade like 3 on the O-line, 1 or 2 on the D-line, and a better TE. Could use some depth in other areas as well....

ive heard that Jones WOULD be tagged.. i dunno alot about whats going on in seattle though so who knows.

I dont think we need to break the bank on an elite LT.. we either need to draft our own or make do with Wand and see if he gets to elite status. Or go back to Pitts, he was doing pretty well there.

I just made a post on a lineman I think we should grab out of Denver, Ben Hamilton.. probably should have posted it here.

I think, if Casserly and Capers have to use one of their top 2 picks on an olineman.. they arent going to be happy about it. they want to draft defense now. but then again, if an Olineman is the best player available to us, maybe it would be worth it.

Anywho.. I just wanted to say that Milford Brown is a bum. He not only needs to be cut, he needs to be run out of Texas. he doesnt deserve to breath our air. Yah.. im not happy with him.

I didn't sit down to review the whole list of upcoming free agents yet, but Walter Jones won't be tagged. We have Hass, Alexander, and Jones as the big three and all unrestricted. You can only tag one player. Seahawks brass feels that Jones wants way more than he is worth, and will probably let him test the market, and allow the market to dictate his salary. I think he will be available, but at a steep price. I mean he literally wants to be paid as the highest offensive lineman in the league. His agent has been bending us over and taking us prison style the last three years straight.
