I've been playing around with their Mock draft machine and its a lot of fun. Here is the best player available Option. Let me know what you think

    1. TJ Hockenson, TE Iowa

    2. Julian Love CB, Notre Dame

    2. Yodny Cajuste, OT West Virginia

    3. Rock Ya Sin, CB Temple

    5. Trayveon Williams, RB A&M

    6. Jalen Hurd, WR Baylor

    7 Mark Fields, CB Clemson

I only have 3 OT, 1 CB, 1 OG, worthy of a 1st round selection if we stayed at #23 overall. Its why I went Best player available. The talent in rounds 2-5 is insane and 2 of my favorite late round gems are Jalen Hurd and Derek Thomas the CB from Baylor.

    I like it

    Hockenson would be the

Love is a KJ type CB

Cajuste everybody know how I feel about him

Ya Sin - Nasty name, not game. Avg talent. Not quick or or fast.

Williams- Love this pick, bring him home. If Foreman is healthy, a RB committee of Miller/Foreman/Williams is pretty good.

Hurd is exactly the kind of guy I'm looking for here. Supremely athletic. At worst you end up with a 6'4 slot that can run in the 4.4's. At best he can play outside and also because he was an All SEC RB he could become the GL RB if Foreman doesn't make it back.

Fields will play in the NFL for along time in the slot. He instantly is a better Slot CB than Colvin was last yr. Now things are different if Colvin plays like he did in 2017 as a Slot CB.

Hopefully if this mock happens the I really hope Gaine adds Trent Brown and I wouldn't have an issue with adding Suh in FA.

I would consider Brown/Suh on par with the JoJo/Manning FA signing impact and would certainly signal a change in org philosophy.

    Got a link for that?

I'm not sure about TE in the 1st... would depend on who else was available

My preference is OT or CB but I didn't have any first round grades on any at those positions when Texans pick came up. The link is www.thedraftnetwork.com

That would be awesome, but how did you hold off taking Dillard until the 3rd?

    TE in the first?

Giving up on the Jordans already?

Sounds like an Obrien move for sure. Any player not plug and play is doomed here. Reminiscent of the QB carousel.

I'd rather find a CB or RB before looking at TE's. That is if Gaine works magic in FA and gets O line help.

Doubt Foreman has what it takes to overcome his injury.

BUT we would be best served in the first to shake the bushes and find a damn LT. There is one out there.

Wouldn't bother me if Gaine spent three or four picks on O linemen. It all begins up front.

Here I am getting all worked up and nothing has even happened yet. :)

Dillard was kinda under the radar until the Senior Bowl week when he really took off as I've two or three mocks in the last week or so where he's going top 10 including to Division rival Jacksonville @ #7 overall.

Hockenson is the best TE in the draft. He's the best blocking TE, and the second best receiving TE after his Iowa teammate Fant. Adding a TE like that is similar to adding an additional blocker on the end of the line.

So no faith in Thomas? No CB or Interior pass rusher available? Hockenson would be a luxury pick, and I don't think the Texans go there. If he's BPA, they try to trade back

I think you did the Mock draft on the Wrong settings. Andre Dillard is a 1st rounder and Lonnie Johnson is a 2nd rounder. You want to do the Predictive setting.

I agree they'd try to trade back in that scenario. There is only 3 OT's worthy of #23 and One CB in my opinion.

Still depends on FA. We get Trent Brown and Ronald Darby, just as a for instance, and all of a sudden with two 2's still in play and a luxury with the talent and usefulness of a Hockenson is all of a sudden a reasonable pick.

Which 3 OTs would you take at 23?

OT-Jonah Williams, Andre Dillard, Jawan Taylor

    OG-Garret Bradbury

    CB-Greedy Williams

Other players I'd consider at 23- Ed Oliver, Both TE's. Value for those 3 is too good to pass up if Available.

Like you, I think most posters here believe our free agent signings will impact the draft.

Just many differing opinions whether or not a CB would be the better option over a TE when the time comes to choose. No right answer at this point in time. A quality RB could also become available.

All ASSuming, of course, that the Oline is addressed in FA.

Going to be a fun draft to watch this year.
