I'm not getting up that early to watch the owners unabashed $$$$ grab. I probably will be up in time to catch the 2nd half. I guess that's what DVR is for.

JP I don't know what you mean by this?

I imagine that the NFL pays the travel / lodging cost of each team for these trips. Maybe not, I don't know.

But I do know where the NFL gets their funds and you are right, it's not a fund me page.

It's from advertising, broadcast fees and the licensing and selling of merchandise.

All of which wouldn't be there if not for the fans. Fans who pay their own way if they choose to go overseas to watch their team play. I could start me a fund me page to go to the overseas game, but I wouldn't go if someone paid for it and paid me to go.

Lucrative business. Old news but relevant. ESPN reported on Sunday that Goodell had asked for a salary of $49.5 million a year, the use of a private jet for life and lifetime health insurance for his family. Goodell was paid $31.7 million in 2015, the most recent figure publicly available.Nov 13, 2017

Almost as much as some of he players / owners make.

Only one making money off of me was the guy who sold me overpriced burgers at the game. I'm sure the Texans got a cut.

It's all entertainment and fans choose to spend their money to watch. Nothing wrong with that.

Know what is really galling. I pay for satellite TV, then sit through endless commercials to watch the games. How dumb is that??

    But I will continue watching...... until I don't. :)

I was there with Tejas Tom and his lovely wife.

Had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves. Great time/I loved the craft beers.

    Thx

My wife loves to travel. Married a jerk who doesn't. :)

She has lifelong friends that she makes two or three trip a year with. Condo in Rockport / Corpus for a week, trips to Galveston and B&B visits to some small towns. Say she wishes I would go but she ain't fooling me.

After being a stay at home mom and raising our five kids she deserves a break from it all. I kinda enjoy it too. :)

my 'little girl' just turned 35. Not married. Says she's unimpressed with the dudes available today. Says (and she's not the only young lady I've heard this from) most guys around her age are momma's boys looking for someone to baby them.

Holy crap, 5 kids and you. She's a saint. Get over yourself and take her somewhere she dreams of. Not friggin Galveston. Bali or Germany. Amsterdam in spring is just gorgeous. You can get off your box for a woman that put up with you for 60 years.

Right about that. Still don't know how I pulled it off. But she did love driving my hot rod Ford. :)
Blew the engine while I was at Pendleton in 2nd ITR. Didn't know what the tach was for. Fixed it and she wrecked it. Tough on cars.

G - Grandpa from Holland. Wouldn't mind going there.

Wife won't fly, won't get on a ship (Queen Mary wouldn't be big enough). She knows about the Titanic.

    Kind of limits my options.

I have mentioned that I would like one of the Norwegian River Cruises I see advertised.

Guess I could drug her for the plane ride. :) Or maybe buy her some water wings.

Maybe cnnd could help me score some chloroform. Be hell to pay when she wakes up though. Then there's getting her back home.

    Smart gal.

Got one of those mommas boys too. Lives in a camper trailer on side of the house. Guess who pays the light bill?

Gets sick and comes to momma for medicine. Has his eyes examined. Guess who paid for the exam and contacts?

Rude awakening for him if I outlive his momma.

Or we could kill two birds with one stone.. drug her, then kick the boy out of the camper trailer, and use it to get her on the plane. There problem solved.. your welcome. :)

Buy a 75" LED TV, then contact the country(s) travel bureau's and have them send you promotional travel DVD's. Get you wife and comfortable, make her a favorite cocktail and pop in the DVD. You'll get to see the best desitnations from the comfort of your home. By the congratulations on you and your wife's anniversary.

Bear is only 23 but similarly unimpressed. Lol, she still brings boys over to pull my bow. It was just a joke when she was 11 or 12. Told her she couldn't date anyone who couldn't pull. That's kind of awkward. "This is Tom, get your bow." "Hi, nice to meet you. See you've met Bear. Good luck."

    Thanks

Been wanting a larger screen to watch the games. I'll try what you suggest and maybe she will think the tv is for her to watch travel DVD's. Win Win
