    Futures contracts:

These players are signed to “reserve/future” contracts. In effect, that means they are being signed for the 2008 season even though that season does not officially begin until March. Only players who were not on any NFL team’s active roster when the 2007 season ended are eligible for such signings; if they were under contract, then they would remain so until March. Players who were on practice squads at the end of the season are eligible to sign with any team.

Nice work dragon. RB's, Cb's, a center and DE. All of those thingies are needs. We've got a great GM now.

If Eslinger is ever going to make it, the Gibbs hire is his best chance.

Well, as long as we don't use another top 10 draft pick on a DL in the next decade... :bat:

Johnson was a pretty decent player for us. He hardly played, but was only a rookie. Seemed like he had a knack for making plays. I'm not completely sure why he was cut the next camp., but I think it was injuries. Good guy to bring in for competition.

I wouldn't get to exicited about these guys. There might be a gem in there, but they're mostly cannon fodder.

Like Icak said, Eslinger and Gibbs seem like a great opportunity for both Eslinger and the Texans. The rest seem like regular camp guys to me.

Camp Fodder is about right, but its good to see Rick Smith getting down to business straight away and planning for next season already.

I saw a photo of him over on HT.com and couldn't believe how young he looked. In my mind he was some grizzly old guy.....
