the final stat line is incredibly misleading in this game. At half time Mayfield barely had over 50 yards passing, with around 50% completion percentage IIRC. 2nd half became shorten the game, and don't let them back in it with stupid plays. We got conservative on both sides of the ball for many reasons
They had almost 500 yards of total offense. It's not like they played ground and pound. Additionally, their QB and WR had the two longest runs of the day and Mahomes led all rushers. Their two RB's had 19 carries for 85 yards.
So simple to understand, although I wish BOB wouldn't be so conservative. It will eventually come back to bite him in the butt.
I am also starting to think he is getting conservative with the lead to not put as much on tape. Starting to see little wrinkles here and there a little bit at a time. Also doesn't help when 2 of the 7 lineman you brought to the game go out. Plus when you are up 23-0 at the half the only realistic show of the other team coming back is you making mistakes. Think back to our first win, up 18 a Nuk fumble and a Watson INT got them back in the game. Idk hard for me to complain about it while it's working, but hopefully it doesn't carry over against teams who can make us pay for it
That may be for that game, but keep in mind that there were only 21 RB running plays. Four RBs were utilized. Mahomes was on point all game. Out of the 40 KC points only 1 TD was scored by an RB.
Tyreek Hill caught one pass for 13 yards . He usually gets behind the defense once a game so why not this game .
I said my original post : They have the Ravens this Sunday coming up, so we shall see how that unit performs against a good defense.
I watched some of that game. My thing is they still looked the same. Dominant. No team has been able to stop this explosive offense.
Their next 3 games will be a test. Well maybe the 2 after the Ravens, I'm still not sold on the Ravens yet(been to inconsistent all year). But then they have a tough in division game against the Chargers, and then go on the road to Seattle who is getting hot at the right time.
The AFC West race has a big impact on the Texans chances at the #1 seed. The Texans lose a 3 way tiebreak between the Pats and the Chiefs. But, if the Chargers win the AFC West, the Texans win the 3 way tiebreak between the Chargers and the Pats. The Chargers at Chiefs game in Week 15 will be huge. The AFC North champ is a lock for the #4 seed. Both the Steelers and Ravens schedules are tough, and both have lost too many games to move up in the seedings. I can see the Ravens taking that division now, with the Steelers ending up the #6 seed.
Is Justin Reid in line for DROTY? Who else is in the running? If he keeps performing like he is, he must be considered.
Is he only showing enough to win? I hope so. After witnessing the fireworks we saw last year with DW4, the odds are he may be keeping a few things up his sleeve - especially when you consider he has had another year to dream up stuff he can do with him.
I think he's in the conversation, but Derwin James of the Chargers may be the front runner at this point
There are several guys that should be up for the award. Darius Leonard - Colts Leighton Vander Esch - Cowboys Roquan Smith - Bears Derwin James - Chargers Bradley Chubb - Broncos But Reid has to be right up there, as well. Great defensive crop of rookies.
Yeah Vander Esch is certainly impressive - Cowboys got a good one there. Reid is the lowest one taken in the draft in that group?
