Kyle Van Noy of the Patriots is the #1 rated edge so far

Why are we not seeing the name of Whitney Mercilus on that list whos sack total is higher than than anyone there ?
I dunno is that a popularity contest or something ?

He has a 73 grade which would put him close to the top 10, I think. I don't see the splits, maybe he's worse against the run

Maybe we look at PFF only when it serves our arguments.

I agree that Mercilus should be in the conversation. Look at a comparison to Mack.

    K. Mack - TCKL 15, SOLO 13, TFL 2, SCK 4.5, PD 1, FF 4 , INT 0

    W. Mercilus - TCKL 19, SOLO 14, TFL 5, SCK 5.0, PD 1, FF 4 , INT 1

Merci is earning his $7.3 m cap and I hope we can extend him reasonable $ (for) a few seasons before he seeks FA.

    Edit to add (for)

That's what I said although after reading my post I could have written it differently. I hope we can extend him this year before he sees free agency this offseason. I really don't want a long extension but two to three years would be perfect for reasonable $. I don't want to get caught up in a price War in the off-season

Top 25 pass rushers. Watt #4 and Reader #15.

    4. J.J. Watt, EDGE, Houston Texans
Despite the injuries that slowed him down for several years, Watt is back among the best in the NFL off the edge. His 39 total pressures when lined up on the edge are tied for the most in the NFL through six weeks.

    15. D.J. Reader, DI, Houston Texans
Reader was always a good run defender, but he has taken a big step forward as a pass-rusher so far this season. From 142 pass-rushing snaps in 2019, he has generated three sacks, a hit and 12 hurries.
