If you could pick 5 players that were on the roster last year and remain on the team this year, and you could change their numbers:

    1) Who would you pick

    2) What number would you give them

    3) Why

    Player #1
    1. DD 2.33 3. Intials are the same so the number so be too.

    Player #2
    1. J. Mathis 2. 84 3. Honor of White Shoes Johnson (Houston's other great return man)

    Player #3
    1. D. Carr 2.7 3. For Dan Pasterini (sp) the who they invented the flack jacket for, and as much as Carr gets hit he should wear two.

    Player #4
    1. AJ 2. 2 3. Stands for the two yard hitch route (which is all he seemed to run last year)

    Player #5
    1. Todd Wade 2. 00 3. Not for Kenny Burroughs (sp) but for the number of DE he stopped last year.:)

What an original thread idea, and a great use of time.

Wand from 78 to 00 since he disappeared along with Hoffa last year

Carr from 8 to 68, since that is the number of times he was sacked last year

DD from 37 to 5, for the number of games he missed last year

Hodgon from 63 to 3, since that's how many games our elite center started in

Mathis from 13 to 2, since he is the second Texan to become a Pro-Bowler

Who ever tagged Hodgon as an elite center?

I'm being sarcaustic. I am glad he stepped up for the team last year, but I didn't see anything he or anyone else on the line did last year to make me think he was an answer to our O-line woes. However, a lot of people on the boards liked him and wanted him to be our starting center. Once we signed Flanagan, those people disappeared/shutup. So I'm just having fun with it.

He would be #4 then unless Walker and Glenn weren't Texans in 2002. ;)

I knew somebody was going to say that. Maybe I should have been more specific. This is a very serious thread, after all! Mathis is the second Texan not pulled from the expansion draft. Nothing against Glenn or Walker, but to me they just seem more Texan if we got them young. Besides, they were Pro-Bowlers in 2002. Seems like that was four/five years ago. Oh, wait. It was!
