    That's a toughy. I chose SS and here's how I got there.

DE- Signing Antonio Smith helped the DE spot, him and Mario should be a good starting tandem.
DT- I like Amobi and think he's still developing. I'd like to add a DT but I think our rotation of guys is decent.
WLB- I like Adibi and think he'll continue to grow into the starting role.
MLB- Demeco is awesome, we just need to get more help around him.
SLB- This was close for me. Diles is coming off injury and that really concerns me. Adding a starting SLB would make him backup with the other LBs we have and would turn this group into the strength of our Defense IMO.
CB- This was very close for me. I like Reeves and he's playing as our best CB. Dunta never played 100% since his injury and there's a pretty good chance this is his last year. Bennett HAS to recover from his sophomore slump. Molden showed lots of potential and got injured late in the year. Faggins is next in line and he could be gone. CB right now is boom or bust for us. Adding a 1st round CB would mean this would be Dunta's last year most likely.
FS- I've always wanted a FS for this team and we just gave Wilson a decent contract. I think he performed well but not great.
SS- Barber is being touted as someone the coaches love and may want to start. I think right now he'd be a great special teamer and backup SS. Not real confident of him being the starting SS at this point but I hope I'm wrong.

SLB and DB are the two critical positions for me right now on defense.

I went with DT because a great Dline would help all the other positions. I'm comfortable with DE having Mario, but I still have doubts about Akoye.

    I agree with OleMiss.

That's why I'm hoping that we can trade down to get another pick in the 2nd.

It doesn't have to be a FS, if a guy can play both positions adequately, I'm all for a football player first.

I would like to have a late first plus two second rounders; or three 2nd rounders.

I'd take two safeties and a CB

Rashad Johnson, William Moore, Delmas, Chung, among other safeties.
DJ Moore, Alphonso Smith, Sean Smith Macho Harris, among other CBs.

That will take care of the backside and transform the team immediately.
One unit that can stay together for years to come.

DT because as Creedence Clearwater revival once sang "Who'll stop the run?" if it is your LB or SS , it probably means the guy is already past the Dline.

Well, I don't know near as much as you guys, BUT, I'll play along anyway. I voted CB. I don't have much faith in Reeves, and not to confident with Dunte since he got diarrhea of the mouth. Time will tell with both. Bennett and Molden are still big ? marks IMHO Maybe a good TC will help both to learn how to keep an eye on the ball!! I still don't know what role Ferguson or Harrison will play in the secondary, but, I think our secondary as a whole, needs LOTS of help. JMO! I'm bored today and lonely, need to interact with TEXANS!!!!! :logo:

I chose DT for this same reason. I heard or read somewhere that teams were deciding that we were soft in the middle and not even bothering to pass when they could just run it up the middle on us. If they're first option is to run it up the middle, I think it must be our our first priority problem to solve.

I like Delmas in 2nd and R. Johnson in 4th.

How about Jenkins at #15 for FS/CB
    Ron Brace NT in 2nd
    Rashad Jennings RB 3rd
    Canfield OG at 4A
    Holtzclaw LB at 4B

Glad to see you posting! I see Bennett as best CB last year and should only improve this season. Dunta will be Dunta except probably about 95% rather than 80% last year. He will not be a drag on field or problem in club house. Bennett will hve his mentor (Dunta)back and should grow even more. Molden should be 100% soon and Petey Faggins may not make team.:wild:

I like Jenkins, but at 15, I'm not sure I would buy that value.
Rashad Johnson is simply not gonna last into the 4th. I even think he'll be gone before the 3rd.

If you're a GM I'll trade you my late third for him, win win :)
I don't see value in Brace in the 2nd either
I like Jennings, but I think we can find a RB later than the 3rd
Don't know about the other two.

Don't know why running back wasn't up there as a choice. We are one deep at that position and that means one hit away from Ryan Moats as are feature back. Folks we aren't going to make it with our RB depth chart..

Good point. I need to ask the mods to change the title of this thread to "Texans Greatest Defensive Team Need" or add a poll option for "Offense - specify in a post". There's not enough poll options to include all of the possible positions.

Fixed the title. You can post a second thread for offense.

I picked CB's. We got beat bad and often. Gave way too big of a cushion and I watched time and time again, as our guys rarely made a play on the ball. They would be sitting, waiting for the catch to be made, then try to tackle. Hopefully it was the scheme, but I don't have a lot of faith in our DB's at all. Unfortunately, that includes Dante. I think we, as fans, are really loyal to him.....possibly to a fault. I'll give him this year to see what he does. Hopefully he'll be at 100% and can bring something to the table next year, other than being a fan favorite and having a reputation as someone who used to be a good player and had a ton of potential, but had a really bad injury.
