So now OBrien can't score points if the second WR get hurt?

To be fair when you only have two people that apparently can catch the ball and one goes down its not hard for the other team to figure out where most of the throws are going to go to. Credit to Watson and Nuk for still being about to complete passes even though the other side knew who he was going to throw to. It got better when Coutee came on board but then he went down to so now we are on what, plan C or is it plan D?

Also yeah the stats for our defense look good but are you really going to say that they were at all good against any top shelf QB? I remember before every game with Brady or Luck or X these boards saying how that QB was going to light us up. Well they did and whom's job, on the field, was it to stop them from doing that?

Every fu@king year, "no depth." The Texans have depth just like every other team.

One injury derailing the offense doesn't exactly inspire confidence

Well defenses usually don't do well against top shelf QBs. That's why they are top shelf.

Overall, I think the defense was not perfect but easily top 10.

Also the offense was still pretty meh after trading for Thomas. They also had the receiving rookie TEs OBrien didn't use.

Offense left a lot to be desired, but so did the defense. ST were better

Steelers shut Brady down pretty good in their game, KC shut Luck down in their game. If a defense can't stop, or at least slow down, a top shelf QB then you can not call them a successful defense as that is mostly what you will face in playoffs and Super Bowls. I agree on the TEs, the argument could be made that they were needed to block but likewise the argument could be made that two more targets might have allowed Watson to get rid of the ball faster. We'll never know.

I think our defense was good but at the same time I was disappointed. We have invested a lot into the defense and by this point we should have been almost one of those teams that can win on defense alone. The big game where it mattered most, against Philly, the defense lost that game. Offense put up 30 points but the Defense couldn't even slow Foles down. That happens but if we are going to crucify the offense for the Colts game then we need to acknowledge that the only reason we played that game was because the defense didn't do their jobs.

The Texans had 1 of those TDs because the defense forced a turnover at the Philly 5.

I agree the defense wasn't as good towards the end of the year.

But saying they both need to improve misses the point that the defense was easily above average and the offense sucked. There's a big gap in what improvement they need

I think most everyone acknowledges that the offense sucked in that playoff game and more

Really, so the Texans have a Ingram or Anderson backing up Miller? They have the depth at RB the Pats have?

Texans will face some stiffer competition next year and this raises some fears for their chances of reaching the postseason.
However, several things will work in their favour to repeat.
Our young QB should be the better for a full season of experience and will also have the preseason to further work on his game and cohesion with his offense.
He should have more offensive weapons at his disposal with the return of injured players and FO should bring in some help for his oline. This in turn will help the running game which showed some potential at times last season so a return to that form will give Watson some relief from having to pass so often.
I fully expect a big improvement on the O and our defense should also benefit from a more productive offense as well so a strong showing will not surprise.
If they can stay healthy and/or acquire some depth in key areas then they should be competitive.

Depends on Foreman if he recovers well enough from his injury.
If he doesn't, then I fully expect another addition to the RB corp.

Ok but why would I assume everyone has a stenograph and tell them to read a podcast?

    Yeah, sad but true.
That's why I want Darrell Henderson in this draft.
All round back with great cuts and has wheels.
