I personally think that's not that bad of a pick-up. I like it. This can only help DD, Morency, and hopefully Wells comes back.
Cool... a pass-catching FB!
guess kubiak thinks hes better than norris
i think he's a pretty good special teams player to, or am i think of someone else?
What does this do for Norris???
I remember when the Bucs moved Alstott to tailback for a little while to get this guy on the field...
Reggie is going to need someone to blast some holes through the line so he can get in the secondary and score some touchdowns.
Not sure if you were sarcastic or not, but I do not understand this line of thinking. We draft Carr and possibly Bush knowing that they need other parts to be successful? There is a salary cap. If the #1 pick in the draft can't get it done then trade out or draft someone like Mario Williams that can make a difference on his own.
Regardless of what they do about Bush, this could be a sign of Davis/Morency at RB and Wells not being re-signed.
Maybe Kubiak sees Kyle Johnson II in this guy.
Last time I checked there aren't too many 1 player teams. Every player drafted needs supporting pieces to make them better. Adding a good blocking back is important to this team because he would not only block for Reggie Bush, but for Domanick Davis and David Carr.
By your logic, a team shouldn't draft anyone at the #1 position.
Im more worried about what this says for Wells.
The biggest selling point for Wells was that he could provide depth at RB and FB while performing well on special teams.
With Cook and Norris..we dont need Wells for depth at FB.. and if we draft Bush, Wells is less valuable there as well.
I wonder if we intend to try and keep Wells or not.
I really want to know how talks with Gaffney are going.
Hell Yes we signed someone.
The former Buc. I remember when he scored a touchdown in the Buc vs. Skins game Bucs won 36-35 on Alstott TD. Nice game to watch at the time cause all the other games were like 9ners vs. Cardinals
A bit of a head scratcher this one. I thought Norris was supposed to be one of the better blocking FBs, so why this guy? Some injury to Norris we don't know about? Any thoughts?
Bingo! Look at #1 picks since the institution of the salary cap era in 1993. Only one player started for a winning Super Bowl team that drafted him, Orlando Pace. We are better off taking Williams or Ferguson than a skill position.
I am confused as well.
Norris can't catch.
Kubiak plans to use this guy like he used his FB at Denver last season. Kyle Johnson (Denver's FB) had 5 TD receptions.
Even Williams and Ferguson rely on other players for their success.
If you have the #1 pick you take the best player in the draft. That player is Reggie Bush. You may not think he is, but you are not a GM, scout, or coach.
Does every thread have to turn into a debate over the draft... Geeeezzzz...
