Texans 2013 NFL Draft, Rounds 4, 5, 6, & 7

I thought our roster was getting fairly set and the lower round players would have trouble making the team this year, and we trade down and pick up more of them. I guess we may have one of the best practice squads out there this year.
Extra picks mean you can gamble on some guys with the hope it'll pay off big. Gotta be able to see the forest through the trees.

This IS the year we pick up a Brady'esque player in the 6th that will play his way into infamy. Hide 'n watch. :winky:

We need a rb, cb, g, te, wr, fb.
We have a ton of needs still. Glad to have an extra pick.
Think about it.
Daniels and/or Wade Smith are probably going to be gone after this year.
Joseph and/or Manning might be.
We need to make sure we are ready.

I like it. I was actually thinking before the pick that the Texans history with 5th rounders hasn't exactly been great. Probably the best 5th we've ever drafted is our backup QB. Anyone else of note? Oh crap, forgot about Casey. Well....I'll pretend we didn't take him since Kubiak didn't use him well and he is gone lol.

I think overall though, we've actually had better luck in the 6th rd than the 5th.

With the luxury of 4 picks, I'm 100% taking a flyer on Da'Rick Rogers if he is still on the board. I understand he has off the field issues, but dude can play. He might be one of the best WR this year if you just look at how he plays. It's the off the field crap and the fact he got kicked off the team, but this is the 6th rd. Kid could be a big time contributer at WR.

Matt Scott?
You read my mind. I've liked this kid from AZ for a while and everything I've read on him points to him being the kind of clay that Gary can take a couple of years to work with and be a sound starter for years. Can't say noodle arm about this guy. He make all the throws. I just think there's enough there to make an NFL caliber QB knowing up front there's absolutely no pressure to start him right away.

LOL, the last two picks were a kicker and a punter. That at least leaves two more players out there that might be left to us that we could use.

Big fan of Matt Scott. Have previously mocked him to Htown in the 5th. Would ove to get him in the 6th!

Where did D. Rodgers go? I would like to see the Texans take a late round flyer on him. Being picked so late might humble him and he could end up being the steal of the draft.

Da'rick is a better player than Dwight jones.

Talent wise Da'rick is up there with some ofthe top players in this draft.

With this many picks, first time taking a QB is an option for me if Gary likes one.

I really think next year is the year for QB.
