Great guy. I remember thinking "Are you carzy for turning down position with ENRON?" Yeah, crazy like a fox. I now wonder what he knew or suspected.

Compared to that last dispicable NFL owner we had, this one is a saint and a breath of fresh air. I'm happy with our owner.

There is something wrong with trying to find cures for diseases? I'm confused.

Blasphemy I say! McNair's cheap, his hot dogs and beer are robbery and he won't spend the money to fill a decent roster.

Uh, wait a minute. I think I just had a Second Honeymoon flashback. :kitten:

Now back to your regular scheduled programming. :)

That was sarcasm at its finest directed at certain party affiliation.

LOL. I think the "Cheap" label is dead and gone forever. He keeps spending up to the salary cap every year so there's not much else you can ask for.

Well, maybe better hot dogs I suppose. :clown:

Eat a f'n hotdog outside before you go into the game. It will taste better and the expense is virtually nil. PROBLEM SOLVED.

I think they sell Earl Campbell (or was that Bum Phillips) links in Reliant... is there some problem with that?

Bum hawks Blue Ribbon products at his smokehouse. I don't really peruse the beaneries so I can't comment to whether Earl's hot links are represented or not. Would not be surprised at all if they were though. They're pretty damn good. I like 'em anyway.

the hot dog thing was a joke. I actually have no idea what kind of hot dogs they serve at Reliant.

Oh I knew that. I was just playing straight man.

All this talking about links is making me hungry.

Me either...my attempt at a joke didn't come across that way! That being said...I'm sure the hot dogs are better outside! :)

I am, too. I've met Mr. McNair a few times and he's as nice a guy as I've met.

As a guy who's spent some time working in the financial field, I can't help but have respect for a man who's accomplished so much on his own. His journey truly is magnificent, and one we can all look up to.

Word on the street is that Bob And Janice McNair are very, very generous people with their money. They give to a ton of charities and causes. They're good people.

As for the team, I never thought he was cheap about spending for the Texans. If his head coach said that every player needed gold-plated Mercedes' to drive to games, Bob McNair wouldn't hesitate. That's just how he is. He trusts his employees to do their jobs, and will give them what they need to do so.

I know a lot of fans were devastated when the Oilers left, but, in the bigger scheme of things, Houston ended up better off.

And I think that's an understatement. Houston wound up with a man who is perhaps THE classiest owner in the NFL. It's really kind of a miracle.

Day-um! Bob's gettin' a lotta love in this thread! But, hey, you reap what you sow. :koolaid:
