Can someone teach our D how to tackle?????????
Dang, that sounds like a good idea. I wonder if anyone on the coaching staff will think of it? However, poor tackling is usually a symptom of poor effort and/or bad angles by the players rather than just a tackling technique.
in order to use a tackling technique you need to get close to a ball carrier first!:brickwall
Dunta Robinson is one the best tacklers in the league, especially for his size. He's incredible. (10 tackles today)
can someone teach them how to plug a hole and not over-pursue?
There was a tackle, by C.C. Brown, IIRC. It was at the start of the second half I believe. Anyways, he came up to tackle the guy with the ball and layed to the side. It looked like he was avoiding contact. He ended up making the tackle by grabbing his foot. I was screaming at the TV! What is wrong with the total lack of effort on the defensive side of the ball? It's not just him, it's everyone. Dunta, Earl, Brown, the whole D Line, etc. Demeco is the only one who seems to play "balls to the wall". I have always been a Dunta supporter, but I think last year ripped his heart out and took something away from him. I understand losing, but the total lack of team effort out there will make this stadium empty really quick. That is the problem that most fans have trouble with.....NO EFFORT & standing around looking like someone just kicked you in the nads!
