Steve McNair's Murder on Dateline Tonight

For those interested, NBC Dateline will be airing this piece, which you may want to record since it will come on at 9 PM Central time.

Since we're in full-pimp mode for all things NBC, we noticed during one of the breaks from Sunday night's Bears-Broncos game that Monday night's Dateline will focus on the July 4 murder-suicide involving former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his mistress, Sahel "Jenni" Kazemi.

The commercial teases the existence of crime-scene evidence undermining the conclusion that Kazemi shot McNair and then herself.

I thought the crime scene evidence was a bit funky myself. I'm gonna have to record this in the good ol dvr. Thanks Cloak.

Thanks Cloak...I too saw that during the game last night and immediately set my TiVo to record it as I will be at the game tonight.

I'm still not 100% convinced of the story...

From the beginning, I smelled something fishy.

When it was considered a closed investigation, it left me with a fishy taste in my mouth.

Please let me know if there is somewhere else to watch this report. It sounds very interesting.

I don't know if or when it will be rebroadcast. I recorded it and after watching, I question even more than before if it was a murder/suicide.

Question for C-n-D:

Is it odd that McNair's right lung weighed 340 grams and the left weighed almost double that at 640 grams?

That could be caused by direct bleeding into the lung tissue on the left, or by pulmonary edema (swelling of the connective tissues of the lung) secondary to a general lack of oxygen as seen in shock. For the latter to occur, McNair would have had to have been alive for a significant period of time after being shot.

She didn't shoot herself.. She had GSR on her left hand, the right hand was clean. As a certified marksman by the USMC in all weapons category. It is very hard to shoot yourself in the right temple with your left hand. Think about it....

Some one need to take a close look at officer Taylor of the Nashville Metro Police Dept. This guy has been stalking Steve McNair for years. This is the same officer that issued McNair's first DUI over four years ago. He is the same officer that issue McNair's brother-in-law a DUI in McNair's Truck in the green hills area, McNair was a passenger during the stop. If you look and listen to the Police video the night she was stopped, you can here him say "guess who's in the vehicle with her" this comment was made before she stopped, and before he got out of his car. We all know the police have Lap tops in their cars, and can check your license number without calling in to central dispatch. This is the officer that issue a DUI to another Titan player Two weeks ago. "BY THE WAY HER TRUCK IS REGISTERED IN HER'S AND MCNAIR'S NAME
interesting comment from the link DD posted. Also, since when did women shoot a gun with their left hand when they are right handed anyway? Most would use two hands and if she did use one hand it would have been her right hand. Especially in the shot to her own right temple.

I read somewhere that the right hand was in a condition that it was not able to be tested for GSR. What I would like to know is why, was the right hand covered in blood or something? What could have happened to her right hand that you can test for GSR, I would think trace amounts of GSR would be detectable in almost in case somwhere on a fingertip or forearm or something. It's not like the hand was severed and put through a meat grinder or something. IIRC, I don't think they even tested it? Which is bizarre to me.

I know there is no way this young lady shot him 4 times with only her left and non-dominant hand having zero hand gun experience. How many guys here experienced with handguns would handle a 9MM with only one hand, and there non-dominant hand at that? So either there was GSR and they didn't test for it or things are afoot @ the Circle K.

Thanks Doc. It just seemed odd as I was reading the autopsy report.

I thought it was supposed to be a .22.

The story changed from declining to identifying the caliber, then to a .22, then to a "medium-caliber" then to a 9 mm. All this has sounded very evasive and fishy from the beginning.

BTW, GSR can be detected in blood or other medium, even if the hand was pulverized or severed. Their explanation does not hold water. It would also have to imply that this right handed female did ALL of her shooting (for the first time) with her left hand. And just try taking a 9mm pistol with any length barrel and pulling the trigger aimed at your opposite temple with you non-dominant hand. It is virtually impossible, especially with a petite female. Your hand mechanics will not allow it without a great deal of strength, even with the head turned as has been proposed by the police. Please pass me a clothes pin.

That's how the story started out but it later came out it was a 9 MM she bought for $100 in a parking lot of her work, the gun was sold to her loaded and ready to use by an ex-con.

Thanks for posting that, I don't know a whole bunch about GSR testing but it just didn't seem right to me either. I have seen enough Forensic Files, and have read about it some to understand how it is done but have never what could compromise accurate results from testing.
