So you want them to run outside with Davenport/Lamm at OT and Griffin/Jordan's at TE? There's a reason they drafted 2 OT's and a TE in the 1st three rds.

    LMAO

So you're saying that running up the middle on damn near every first down to the point where even someone that hates football can predict it, true story because my wife did in one of the very few times she watched a game, is any better?

So your saying running behind those OT'/TE's is going to be successful?

Ah but see figuring out how to be successful with the RB and line we had that's not my job, see what I did there. That's BoBs job and its part that he did crap on. He could at least have changed it up a little, "ok guys this time we're going to run up the middle on second down, they'll never see that coming." I'm not saying he had much talent to work with but you go to war with the army you have and you still have to win the war even if your army is crap. If he could have done something, anything really, that made the run game at least a minor factor maybe our WRs wouldn't have been falling down like dominoes.

If I recall correctly the running game improved when they went to a more zone blocking scheme

He did what you're saying to the tune of 11 wins and the 2nd most points scored in franchise history. Working with what he had and winning as much as he did despite the lack of talent.

If you take Watson's running yds out then the run game sucked just as bad as the 62 sacks allowed. The OL was literally the worst in the NFL by a good margin. Devlin should've been fired not allowed to have a say in drafting OL.

Could be you're right, numbers can be twisted but they don't lie. It certainly seemed like every time we turned around there was Miller running up the middle and there was the other team's D waiting to give him a hug. I don't know maybe if some of those runs had been more successful it wouldn't have seemed as bad.

Again numbers don't lie and you are right but that doesn't change the fact that the offense was predictable but had enough talent to overcome that predictability. This has always been my biggest dig against BoB he doesn't really change his system based on the players. This even ties in to what you hate about the way they draft and do F/A. They seem to look more to see if a player will fit their system over everything else.

Yes all teams look for players that they feel will fit but the Texans seem to take it to another level. Its almost like putting together a puzzle. You can be putting a 1000 piece puzzle together and be missing one piece and the puzzle is forever incomplete. The other 999 don't matter because you are missing that one piece. I'm just worried we will always be missing that one piece that makes the picture complete in BoB's system. Before it was a QB, now its the Oline, what's next, a RB or maybe by then Watt has retired and we need to rebuild the defense? Does BoB have to every single piece fit just right or can he cut up the picture so that it may not be perfect but it still is good enough to go on the wall?

    I get your fear.

A healthy WFV and Scharping/Howard playing at an avg level will alleviate those fears.

Pathetic go to when you have no argument.

But let's mark that one for the record, steelb's football acumen ends at run v pass.

Mark whatever the hell you want.

Just quit moving the goalposts while you're at it.

Let's not put too much on those youngsters just yet. They might not start this year because of them being projects. Let's hope Henderson stays healthy as well as play average . And Davenport plays average.

Or those two youngsters flat out beat them for the starting jobs.

But to the they can also tamper down those fears by truly teaching Watson to do what he did in his rookie year. And that's to get the ball out his hands quickly.

Davenport will never be avg. I could see Henderson starting at RT.

    Agreed about Watson.

Here you go again bashing those that you don't like instead of actually giving them a shot. Let the youngster proves his worth. You've been talking negative about him since day one.
