“Texans have a Ferocious Pass Russ”

This is the exact quote from Adam Schefter as reported on Team Cam on NFL Network. Also says Pittsburg will be up against a very tough defense especially with Mario coming into his own in his third season, and that this will be a tough assignment for the Steelers.

What exactly ferocious pass rush is he speaking of? I agree that Mario is a dominating beast, but he certainly cannot do it alone, and I have yet to see anyone step up beside him, or in our secondary.

Where is the fun in that?

Bring on the wild speculation, the woe is me despair and the ridiculous hyperbole... or are we saving that for the next gameday thread?

    I agree.

We really won't know what we have until about week 3.

I do know one thing, if the Texans want to run with the big dogs then they are going to have to step up and play like a big dog.

Looking at this preseason the only thing ferocious about our pass rush is the gust of wind from whiffing on the side opposite of Mario Williams...or maybe that is a blur from Anthony Weaver dropping back in coverage really fast.

Ferocious pass rush???? What has Schefter been watching? I and probably most other Texans fans agree that Mario Williams can be a dominating force but it's a team game. Anyway, I hope Schefter is right and maybe he knows something we all don't.

I think he is basing his preview on the way the Texans finished up the season last year, and I tend to agree with him based on that. With nothing much changing besides our acquiring more (better?) depth, I will expect the same amount we saw last year.

That is reserved for the threads following our first loss, if that ever happens.

You sure he didn't say "atrocious?" No matter what he did say, I'll be hoping to see the Texans play the part of the bull...........instead of slinging it.:texflag:

They really need to win. If they are anything less than 3-4 before the break, the season is toast.

Has Schefter even watched Richard Smith's defense the last few years. Just an embarassing scheme and no pass rush to speak of. Richard Smith is probably the worst Defensive Coordinator in the league...it sucks but its true.

Our DL looked good against Denver and in the first quarter vs. New Orleans. It's kind of funny how concerned we've all gotten, myself included, because we struggled to get pressure on Romo and Brees. Well, those are two of the best QBs, on two of the best offenses, behind two of the best lines in the NFL... and, it was only preseason.

We should be able to pressure Rothlisburger and get some sacks. The Pitt line is under transition and not very good in pass protection and Big Ben tends to hold the ball a little long looking for the big play. I think we're all going to feel better about the pass rush after Sunday's 4 - 5 sack performance.

I have been saying all along that the Texans line is not as bad as it seems in preseason. I feel we CAN pressure and we will. The real games start now with our real "D".

    The "Bull Rush" is ON!
